Hi! I am so glad that you found us. This is a very wonderful group of women that will be there to support you as you begin this journey.
As Jo-Ann said, it is quite normal to be really scared. If you weren't, there would be something wrong. Hearing that you have cancer is the most frightening thing in the world. The one thing that I want you to remember is that bc is a disease that can be beat and it is also one that can be managed. Just be sure to find a surgeon and oncologist that will work together along w/ your other drs. And remember, they are there to work for YOU!
It sounds as though you have a very understanding dr. I would suggest that you write down any and all questions that you think of - no matter how silly they may sound. Then take them w/ you next week to your appointment. Also, as Jo-Ann said, take a small tape recorder w/ you as well as a family member or good friend. Having someone else in the room w/ you and your dr. will not only give you an "extra set of ears" but they will be able to write down the answers to your questions as well as other things that are said. Plus, you need the emotional support.
Feel free to come here and vent anytime. We have all done it. Don't be afraid to cry or scream or throw something. I also found the car was a safe place to yell and scream as well as the shower.
Hugs and prayers...Deb
