Here we go again...and again....

First off...Thanks to all who sent Birthday wishes..they were appreciated. Thank you Joyce for the card, warm slippers and the book,but especially your friendship and thoughtfulness.

 

Well, I am presently in the middle of radiation to my ribs. I have been in extreme pain ...spine, ribs and pelvis. They are starting with the spine hoping it will relieve some of that pain. They will possibly do the spine and do the pelvic area. They found alot of new tumors in that area on the bone scan from several weeks ago.They found 2 small tumors on my lungs on the CT scan and also the cancer has spread to the lymphs on my other breast.  My tumor markers are up to 395....

 

I will be starting chemo again on December 28th..the chemo is Doxil..it is in the Adriamyicin family. I will first have a Muga Scan & MRI of the spine on December 18th. The Muga is because the Doxil may cause damage to my heart.

 

I have been depressed about all this...I am getting tired of doing this again and again. But, for my Birthday my daughter Rachel got me the sweetest kitten. Her adoption name is Autumn, but I call her Auti...she is 12 weeks old and very naughty I love her alot and she is so much company.

 

I am on disability now..It got too hard to work with the pain..I hated going on disablity, but it was time. I applied for SSD and it was approved in 5 weeks, from what I understand that is pretty fast.

 

Well, that is the news ....please keep me in your prayers.

I am so glad you posted. I know everyone will want to know how you are doing. As always I am thinking of you and want to squeeze Rachel for being so thoughtful. What a wonderful idea to pick a wonderful, warm, and furry member for your home to enjoy those cold winter days with. I know this is the first time I have not had a 4 legged family member and the house is not the same.  Love ya lots,

Dear Cathi, this is not the message I wanted to read today! I am so, so sorry you are having to fight so hard. I am glad SSI worked so well for you, it did for Jo-Ann, too. I have been in the doldrums about posting here, altho I do read often. I had to answer your post tonight to tell you I am on your side and thinking of you. Please enjoy every moment with your kitty. I know she is precious and how much joy she will give you. We all love you, you know that. MK

Hey, Cathi. I want to thank you for this openly honest look at how you are doing. We've all been touched by cancer and know that it can get ugly. I'm so sorry you've had such bad pain. May this treatment help and ease that pain for you, dear friend.

I know that I cannot get through a day without the Lord, Cath, and pray that He will comfort you and help you as you enter this new yet continued fight.

Now, little Auti sounds like a winner! What a sweetheart who will love spending time with you. You'll know she's there by the loud purring.

I love you and admire you for being such a fighter. Remember we're here to discuss the tests, treatment, whatever --but, we're always here to distract you, too. You and Libby can always discuss the Grinch!

Oh, Cathi, I am so saddened to hear this latest news. I've been hoping your condition was stable. Glad you have the kitty. They are such good company. Sadly, both of the strays I took in many years ago died this year, so we are petless. Sending good thoughts, vibes and prayers for you. Love and hugs, Lauri

Cathi:  darn! darn! darn! (Hope that I don't get kicked off the board for typing those words..not the words that I am really feeling) I am so sorry to hear that you have had yet another recurrance. It isn't fair. We all know that. You have every right to be depressed. I hope that the radiation will help w/ the pain and that the new chemo will get rid of the tumors they found. Positive thoughts are that the tumors are small. Easier to get rid of.

Please know that we are all thinking about you and pulling for you. Having to go thru chemo again and again is not fun. I am back on weekly chemo and mad as a wet hen about it. Getting mad helps fight this darn disease.

Love that kitty. Sounds like you both needed some special love right now.

I'm truly sorry the disease is progressing, friend.  I am a dolphin swimming around you, please remember that.  I hope you can manage the pain.  Try to distract yourself any way you can. 

 

A Kitten is just what this doctor orders .  Lots and Lots of Auti.  We got two kittens about two months ago, brother and Sister, the girl's named Whiskers, and the boy's named Trouble.  I'm sure you can guess why DH named him that.  In the case of kittens, the whole is definately more than the sum of the parts.  They are a load of fun to see running around and playing.  That may be a thought, too....... rescue another and let them play together. 

 

Jigsaw puzzles also help the body slip into the relaxation response, which will help your pain in the long run.  Honey, please keep posting.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.
