I love my friend but am so confused!

So, now my friend is telling me that she is cancelling her appointment that is tomorrow, and she will reschedule after her period...since she just got it yesterday.  I know this is probably not a horrible idea, as so many places say that you can wait up to 2 cycles to get it checked, but she is still hurting, and I am scared this is her way of getting out of going.  UGH.

So, since she is an adult, and clearly won't listen to me when I suggest she still go, I am going to let her cancel...Ia m not her boss, and just hope I can get her to reschedule without any kind of argument.  I know she is scared, but geeze, I feel like I would want to know.

I am not judging her, since I don't know what is going on in her head right now, I only know what she is telling me. 

So, I figured I'd give antoher update.  There probably isn't going to be an appointment tomorrow.  sad

Tammy, you can't make your friend go to the doctor. And you can't let this drive you crazy, either. Her life, her decision. You have done all you can do, so now you have to do the hardest thing...let go of the problem. You obviously care about your friend. My own best friend ignored me when I warned her about taking hormones for menopause. She said she was much more likely to die of heart disease than breast cancer from taking hormones (back then, they thought hormone replacement therapy helped protect from heart disease). I lost her four years ago...to breast cancer. So I know how you are feeling right now, but you have done all you can do.

Take care of you now, okay???

Thanks BEV, and yes, I do have to take care of me now. I have a lot of other things going on right now that I need to worry about. I have strong issues with anxiety...that I am dealing with, and this is making it worse, and a sick mother too, so I have to "give up" in a way. She told me that when her period is over she will call for another appointment. I will ask in a few days, but not push.

I wanna thank you BEV for all the advice you have given me. If there happens to be any updates, I will share them.
