Thank you so much for your advice!! I had my report faxed over this morning, and I will share a condensed version, and again any feedback will be greatly appreciated!!

"Along superior portion of right breast is a kidney bean shaped 6mm  nodular density" "this is most likely due to a lymph node" "no other dominant masses are seen, no other regions of architectural distortion" "however since this is patient's first mammogram I would recommend a six month for stability" "probably benign findings".

What does anyone make of that?? I like the idea of getting a second opinion.....I understand it may be "part of my anatomy" per the nurse, but as she said they have nothing to compare it to, so why not look into it?? Help!! confused

The report does not sound too frightening but if it is worrisome to you, I would certainly look for a second opinion for sure. Are you near a big city where you might find breast specialists? Maybe you are near one of us and we could help. I am in the Fort Worth Area, Jo-Ann is in the Dallas area. We can cover some areas in OH, NJ, VA, SD, WA, CA..... and on. So if you need help there, just say so. Otherwise there is always the internet. If it is working??? I am rolling my eyes because I have satellite and for some reason there is no connection this morning and during the night, so I am on my slow dial up service I still keep just for this reason. Hey jazzy,

here is my medical report from the 1st hospital I went to. I didnt get the 2nd one from the 2nd doc (to show my insurance) cos teh 2nd doc wants my insurance company to write a formal letter to him (hope what he said to me is consistent in his writings).

Anyway, here is my medical report from the 1st hopsital's ultrasound report:

"Both ultasound of the breasts were performed. Both breast tissue shows raised and heterogenous fibroglandular echotexture, with fat globules interspersed amongst the dense fibroglandular tissues. There are two hypoechioc leisons with circumscribed margins seen in the (R) breast at 12 o'clock position, which are subcentimeter in size. These 2 hypoechoic lesions do not show significant posterior acoustic shadowing, internal vasularity or surrounding architectural distortion. They are likely to be begnin such as fibroadenomata. However, due to lack of previous comparison study, close interval follow-up is recommended to access for stability."

was the second place a breast surgeon?  Since you went to two already, would the insurance co. cover a breast surgeon visit?  You do have a kidney bean!!!

 

Here's what I would do.  look up a breast surgeon that participates with your plan, (Mine had one)  find the best one nearest you, make an appointment with that breast surgeon.  THEN call your PCP and get a referral to said surgeon.  A cancer center is the place where you know you're getting good advice.  Area hospitals aren't cancer centers, and haven't had the extra experience and possibly training that breast cancer centers have.  If your PCP says you don't need it say you're not sure about it and having it in you is really bothering you during the days and you're distracted.  ask your PCP if they can justify it for you to get referred.  Then you'll know hun.  Of course you can wait. 6 months for a comparison to the baseline.  Maybe it is a kidney bean!  Was it chilli?  Of course I prefer them baked or in split pea soup.  They're not so good ala mammo
