sinusitus

UGH! I have been fighting sinusitus for 4 to 5 weeks. I have taken 14 days of 3 different antibiotics which made me so sick to my stomach. I still have swelling in my cheekbone area and between my eybrows. I fill dizzy several times during the day. When I eat it feels like i get and anxiety attack of some sort. I fill a bit dizzy and my sinus hurt along with my throat. Any suggenstions???

My mother in law used to have terrible sinusitis and she swore by this home remedy. She would apply a hot washcloth to her face for about 7 minutes and then apply an ice cold one. She would repeat this process, hot/cold for three or four times. Usually about the fourth time she would have a huge gushing of horrid gunk that would come running out of her nose and down her throat and have instant pain relief. This is not a cure all, it's only a palliative measure but the relief it offers is real. By removing some of the clogged up gunk it makes it easier for the antibiotics to do their job.

Warm compresses after this will help your body fight the infection. Heat increases the viability of the white blood cells and allows them to do their work more efficiently. Taking anti-inflammatory, antipyretic pain reliever such as aspirin, ibuprophen or tylenol can actually lower the body temp and make the temp of the sinuses more conducive to bacterial growth. Increased heat at the site of the pain is your body's response to fighting the infection. The elevated temp will make it not so welcoming to the bugs that moved in at 98.6º. Using hot packs will help the body fight even more efficiently. Hope this offers you some relief.
