Hi,
Jumping forums, just because Remeron is a med I know a little bit about. One thing about it is the side effects are worse the lower the dose. So, 45mg generally gives less side effects than 15mg. Always seemed a bit backward to me.
For me it helped. I have Cystic Fibrosis and find sleep difficult. It was the first antidepressant I ever tried and will honestly say it was the best one. I found within 15 minutes it knocked me out asleep and I slept like a bear in hibernation. I used to get a lot of restless leg problems and as soon as I lay down I struggle to breathe. It helped with that and I felt a lot better for the sleep I was getting. It was stopped for me because my CPK levels kept going up. It wasn't related to the mirtazapine, but it was a big argument with my doctors and they kept forgetting to inform important people (like my psychiatrist) whenever they stopped it. So they screwed me up a bit and I had to switch meds in the end as it stopped working. But, when it worked, it worked good for me.
Some people find it can make them a bit dazed and I think for the first few weeks it did that with me. As with all antidepressants they take time to get into the system so will take about a month before your body gets used to it.
I honestly don't know about those levels though. Can you ask a pharmacist or a doctor about that maybe? They might be able to put your mind at rest about the levels. Do you get your hormone levels checked regularly?
