about 2 years ago, it was the summer holidays and I was 12. I woke up one morning and felt unusually tired and brushed it off, going downstairs. I fell asleep on the couch, watching TV, when I really needed the toilet. I tried to get off the couch but I couldn't move; it was as if the energy had been drained out of me.
Anyway, I managed to get upstairs to the toilet but I couldn't find the energy to back downstairs so I fell asleep for the rest of the day and night.
I kept having strange nightmares that I couldn't wake up from and I was starting to question what was real and what was a dream. I woke up for maybe 2 minutes at a time before I fell back asleep again and it was filled with more nightmares. This happened for about 2 days.
The one time I managed to get out of bed was when my grandma came into my room to see if I was ok. She tried to get me out of my bed once I started complaining to her that I couldn't move from the neck down. I stood for a few second but when I tried to take a step forward, I fell to the floor.
She said she'd phone an ambulance but for some reason, I couldn't shake the feeling that it was a bad idea, as if they would find something out that I didn't want known. I told that I would be fine and to trust me. Any normal person would have phone an ambulance but she took my word for it and for the next 2 days, managed to wake me up long enough for a sip of water or a bite to eat.
After another day filled with nightmares, I woke up one morning and it was as if nothing had happened. I could move again. I felt extremely dizzy and a bit confused but it freaked me the hell out and nobody could explain what was happening to me. It was as if my body had comatosed me so I get ready for something I just didn't know what.
If this has happened to anyone else before I would love to know when and why. And if you know what happened to me, please, I would love to know the answer.

First off, you sound very mature for a 14 year old.
The symptoms you describe have nothing to do with ME/CFS so I am wondering why you picked this condition to pose this question.
But, I will give one stab at it. Did you get a vaccine for anything 2 - 4 weeks prior to this incident?

Hello That Crazy Girl,
No I have not had these things happen to me. Fortunately.
I'm glad you came out of it on your own. That's quite a story. I
wonder what the ER would've done.
It surprises me that after two years, you haven't asked for
instance a family doctor what this might be. Do you have a family
doctor? It might be helpful to put this in your medical history.
Yes. I could 'make guesses' about it. A medical vaccine.
A tic bite? Could be a lot of things. Some heart problem.
It's all pure guessing. My friend had a condition called ITP,
which put her in the hospital for 4 days and she had very strange
symptoms. But I don't know how they diagnose it. If it was me,
I'd ask a doctor for their opinion. Take care.

Hi That Crazy Girl - It sounds like you could have lyme. I never was paralyzed but I've had issues with my knees and ankles giving out without warning. You do not need that bulls-eye rash to have lyme so don't believe doctors when they give you that lame excuse about why you can't have it!
(Avril Lavigne did not get the rash but she was diagnosed with lyme.)
I suggest you flip over to the lyme forum and see if you can find some answers there.
Hope this helps!
