just lost my job!

i've just took a call from my employer telling me that because of my frequent absences their laying me off!! i told them that i had CFS before i started and i might call in sick at the last moment and they were fine about it, but it seems their sick and tired off it now! my question to you lot is have any of you lost a job due to CFS?how did it make you feel?i feel like crap! i tried my best and even though it was brain surgery i did the job to the best of my ability, it just goes to show doesnt matter how good you do something your just another disposible pawn in the rat race!!

I'm sorry to hear about that. You're in the US right? Some places have the FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) or something like that. My friend's dad has chronic migraines and misses a lot of work, and as long as he doesn't go over the alloted days during the year they can't fire him. His job might be union too... I"m not sure.

Either way that really bites the big one. I think a lot of our problems come from people seeing CFS/CFIDS as being something that people say when they're too lazy to do things, which is totally not the case.

The name CFS doesn't sound as serious of an illness as it actually is... which doesn't help us out at all either.
