MENIERES DISEASE

 

Hello l am new here. l would like to know where l can change my font size. If poossible l find my text very small.

 

l have Menieres disease and l find it really tough. The vertigo, nausea, ringing in the ear, headaches. Does anyone here have it or know someone that has or had it. l would love to share about this since frankly l feel alone.

Hi again, l got good news yesterday. l had 3 biopsies at the beginning of March for Cancer and well with this Meniere thing l found the wait very long. Cancer free, yes!! Now l can concentrate on trying to go back to work. My job is no longer available but l will start looking around. Have a great day.

Hi ti-bebechat and welcome. I'm sorry you are dealing with meniere's. I suffered from a brain injury a little under 2 years ago and with it came horrible vertigo, so when I say I know how you feel, I know how you feel. It would be like being on a tilt-a-whirl. I would get so dizzy I'd fall out of bed. It was the worst feeling in the world. Fortunately mine settled down after about a year, and now my vertigo is much more mild in comparison, but still affects my ability to read, the positions that I sleep or lie in, and constant nausea and malaise. Are you on a special diet? I have heard that this can help with meniere's, though to be honest I don't know a lot about it. Now I take meclizine now as needed, especially to help upset stomach. It did not help with major attacks though, so I am not sure if it wil help you or is appropriate for meniere's. l also know that when I am congested, it can make things worse. Does meniere's cause fatigue? I noticed that listed on the poll in your post. I'm glad to see you found us, and always love to see a new face, I wish we could be more helpful to you.

Wow too bad for your brother, l tried cutting down on salt and took a lot of Serc. Didn't help,  l hate the always conjested blocked ear thing. l had surgery to relieve prssure on my Eustacian tube but it did not work either.  l heard that medication such as Ativan can help a little but ummm l am really thinking about this  as l am afraid to develop a dependance on this type of med. l have purchased a walking stick to help me when l leave the house. l gave up driving which really sucks   funny thing l am also allergic to seafood and have a lactose intolerance problem. Good luck to you and your brother, l think only time takes care of what we have.

I'm trying to figure out if I have a sinus infection that's gone to my ears. I've got another drippy nose going on and just started pain in the ear. I have chronic sinus infection.

I'm also waking up with mild nausea that gets worse if I try to eat. It gets so bad I need to take Zofran. I think I'll ask about getting some more testing.

Why do docs just say "You have Meniere's" and send us packing? It seems like there ought to be a whole battery of tests to see if there is something that will reduce the misery.
