Hopefully someone here can help me out. I have done some searching and have not found anyone describe what I am about
to describe the way I feel it. Let me start with me. I am an 18 year old male, I don't have the perfect body but I am not terribly out of shape. I like to live an active and healthy lifestyle, working out on a daily basis and taking part in many outdoor activities. However recently what I am about
to describe has interfered with my lifestyle and has begun affecting my job. I do not see myself as depressed or stressed out.
I constantly on a daily basis feel lethargic, typing on the keyboard can sometimes be a major effort. It's not the kind of I am ready for bed sleepiness, my eyes dont get heavy and I dont feel quite like I could go to sleep. When it sets in all I feel I have the energy to do is just sit there, as I said I dont even have the energy to be typing on the computer at times. Some days are better than others. This has been occuring for the last year or so and appears to have gotten worse progressively and recently it got bad all of a sudden.
Only recently have I been worried about it because it is starting to seriously affect my life and my work. I have no problem waking up in the morning, but getting out of bed can be another story. I constantly have to force myself up, when thats all said and done I also force myself to work out. (On occasion, as this has gotten worse I have not been able to force myself up lately.) Some parts of the day can be better than others, there does not appear to be a pattern.
Doing some research on the internet I came to the conclusion that it could be hypoglycemia. However after borrowing a blood sugar reader from my mother (she is diabetic), my sugars were normal most of the time, sometimes low but not low enough to cause concern. However I still experience many of the symptoms: Headaches, Lethargy, Trouble Speaking (often times stuttering, saying the same word twice or saying things that didnt flow together. Almost like being drunk.), I also often feel warm when the room is at a low temperature. (77 is sometimes hot to me). Now if my blood sugars are normal, I am not sure this could be the cause, as it would have been the perfect explanation. I had severely changed my diet to see if it would have had an effect and it does not appear to have one after nearly a month of following a diabetic/hypoglycemic diet.
Right now I am planning to see a doctor. However it will be a few days before I can get in, so in the mean time I would like to gather as much advice as possible or possible causes so that I can make sure to discuss them with my doctor.
Hopefully this is the right place to ask such a question.
