Hello,
I am from the Lyme forum and I hope that you don't mind me stopping by to ask these questions.
I am asking because I have lab results, but will not be seeing my Dr for 2 more weeks, so am trying to figure out what I can. I have asked about this on the Lyme board, but so far have no answers.
I am inquiring about my lab results for herpesvirus 6. When I do searches on this, I find it sometimes linked to MS and CFS, that is why I am here to ask:
My HV6 IgG is high, 'out of range'. (1.8) Lab interpretation says 'past infection'. But then it goes on to say that rises in antibody titers have been linked to other viruses. (I show past and active EBV infection, as well as babesia. I've still got to research my 'high' parvovirus results)
My question for you, is do you know if this result indicates that I have an HHV6 infection? If this would only indicate a past infection, then why would my Dr order the test? Or would that have been to compare to IgM?
And why would it be highlighted as 'high'?
I understand that a positive test is not necessarily abnormal . But does a 'high', 'out of range' result indicate infection? Does anybody know? I want to know because it seems to be linked to the ' immunosuppressed'. My Dr (and labs) has diagnosed Lyme, which also seems to be connected to immunosuppression.
I would like to accept opinions with the complete understanding that I won't hold you liable, as a Dr or expert, OK? Thank you, and may our searches for health continue and succeed!
Becky
btw: anyone by any chance know anything about 'high' parvovirus results?
