hey guys,

im normally on the depression forum. i am 13 years old and will be coaching a netball team next year. they are going to be 10 and 11 year olds. one girl has Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and i i want to know abit about it because all i know is that she has some major meltdowns sometimes. ( her mum says its because of her ME??? )

anyway, i just would love to know abit about what C.F.S is and if i could help her in any way.

Hi Jess,

Gosh, I think you are going to be a really good coach!

As I understand it, having M.E. means she has had some damage to her nerves and swelling in her brain. This can cause a real feeling of rage or inability to cope and she can even be in a lot of pain and not really know it.

Best thing for you to do is to give her the space to work through it and then bring her back into the group as soon as you can. Pressuring her to "get a grip" won't help much, not taking it personally and not letting the other girls make fun of her is important. As time goes by, she will probably learn how to manage her problem better. I am sure you will help her do that.

thank you heaps! that helped alot! i understand alot better now. i would never let anyone mock her and if they do they can go for a run. lol. but thnx for explaining that to me. is there anything that can trigger her to have an instant feeling on rage?
