Hello. I am a newbie to the group. I went to my rheumatologist yesterday. I have chronic migraine and fibromyalgia. My last lab results showed high sed rate, high calcium, low vitamin d and low iron. Need some advise. I saw the nurse practitioner. She seems puzzled and I need answers. She called me in some prednisone. Help!?

This morning she called and said my sed rate is up more than before, 41.

welcome to the form.

A nurse from the red cross once advised me to take vit d3, 1,000 iu a day. Also she told me about black strap molasses. Best natural source of iron if you are not a diabetic. A tablespoon of day will boost it up nicely. I mix it into milk and it is not so bad.

If you are diabetic, spinach raw, is a high source iron, eat it in sandwiches, throw in pasta at the last moment, etc..

I am currently taking 50,000 iu vitamin d2 once a week, and 2000 iu d3 per day. Also taking 65 mg iron supplement. But I am going to check on the molasses. With the calcium being elevated, I am concerned about possible parathyroid tumor. Should I be alarmed?
