Hi Frenchielover, I am sorry you have to deal with so much. I have Fibro & CFS also & have to deal with the sleep issues. The insomnia is from the Fibro & really conflicts with the CFS. When I was first sick I was working at a job & I went through exactly what you are going through, I still do. Any time I have to live by a schedule, I crash & can't seem to have enough energy to do the job I need to do. I need to be able to sleep when I need to without any time limits. I can do one day of getting up by the clock, like for a doctors appointment but anything beyond that puts me into a crash & I can sleep for 20 hours & get up feeling like I have not slept, that is the malaise that is such a characteristic ME/CFS/SEID.
I wish I could answer your question as to a doctor to go to but I have never heard of using ADHD meds to help with CFS. I think I would give a Rheumatologist a try, I think they are more up on these kinds of illnesses then other Drs. What kind of a Dr dx'd you? Did you talk to him/her about using an ADHD drug?
It really sounds like you have so much illness & pain that you probably could get SSD. I had to go on it because I was in the same boat. I found I couldn't work. How is your Mom, is she able to work? Take care of yourself & take the time you need to to make the decisions that you have to make. Don't beat yourself up for having these illnesses & not being able to do your job. If you were well you would do it with energy & vigor. Keep posting, many soft & gentle hugs, Denise
