Hello All!!
Maybe some of you could help me out. First, a brief history. Last August, I came down with an illness that lasted about a month and a half. The symptoms were very much like Lyme disease, as a matter of fact, I've posted here in the Lyme forum before. I never tested positive for anything. It left my body in late September and then I was fine for a few months. Around Christmas, I developed achey joints very much like Rheumatoid Arthritis. My doctor ran tests and sent me to a rheumatologist. I think I also posted here about that. I never tested positive for anything, and it went away after about another month or so.
I was fine for awhile again, until April. I developed low back pain and fatigue. My doctor put me on antibiotics for what we thought was a UTI. Urine test came back, it said there was no UTI. The back pain, headache, fatigue, pelvic pain, fever and night sweats persisted. Doctor sent me for a Cat Scan, and MRI and more blood work. Nothing. I don't have swollen lymph glands, I am not pregnant, I don't have Lupus, Lyme, RA, Mono, thyroid issues, hypertension, Hepatitis, or any of the other things that the doctors have tested me for that could indicate fatigue, fever and pain. I am 26 and have been married for four years, no risk of STDs. I have had several CBCs and they are fine. I do think being on antibiotics *may* have helped me feel better, though don't know if it's a placebo effect. I do have a history of repeat infections (sinus, UTI, ear infections), I think I may have a lowered immune system, and my father has had autoimmune problems (RA and Grave's disease).
Regular physician asked me to go back to the rheumatolgist. He said if there's a possibility of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, then she'll help diagnose it by ruling out anything else there could be.
Sometimes I feel so sick and tired, I can't get out of bed, I will sleep for 12 hours. Sometimes I think I'm crazy, and the only tangible evidence I have that something is wrong, is the temperature that registers on the thermometer.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Am I seeing the right doctor, as in, is there another specialist I should see?
Thank You very much for any help!
