Oxycontin

Just wondering how everyone takes their Oxycontin. Do you take it at 8 hours in between or 12? Do you take it with food or with a big glass of water? I have to take an anti-nausea med half- hour before I eat and then I take the oxy. after I eat. Been thinking about asking my doctor to switch to every 8 hours instead of every 12.

 

I take mine every 24 hours. I take mine at bed with a bit of water. It never makes me sick. I take oxycodone IR every 6 hours, with what ever is around.. I've never got nauseous from it. I do recall getting sick from hydrocodone though.

I have taken Oxycontin since 1995 and I can take it every 8 hours never ever has it lasted 12 hours like they try to say it dose or can.

Other people who take it I know say the exact same thing it do NOT last the 12 hour's they state it can so it is just not me

Myself I have taken it on a empty full stomach and it has never made me nauscious and empty or full stomach has never seemed to make a differance to me

I take my oxy every 12 hours and its true, they do not last 12 hours like they claim. Unfortunitly my doc will never let me take them closer together. I'd say after 5 hours the potency starts to lessen and by 7 or 8 hours I need to start taking my break through med. Well, I also take one BT med with my oxy because by the time I take the next dose of oxy my pain is off the charts. I never eat before or until an hour after them because carbs and things that have alot of sugar in them make me feel floaty and I guess a little drugged. I guess because carbs turn into sugar and sugar is metabolozed quicker cause the dose of oxy to release quicker. Thats how I've heard it explained by someone else, but it wasnt a doc so I dont know the real reason. It does defenitly help knock the pain down quicker but that feeling makes me really anxious. I feel like I'm not in control or something.
