Letting your Doc know about
this is the first suggestion I would make and then go from there. Ry had a great idea with the mattress as once I changed to my memory foam I had alot less pain ina lot less places after waking and I know due to my knees and my back problems I dont chnage positions alot during sleep so this percipitates far more pain and stiffness in other joints and this is hardly surprising since I have degenerative joint disease. I cant begint o tell you how much difference the bed makes and I didnt have a cheap mattress before that. The orthopedic mattress are great for soem folks but it was far to hard for me and I do much better with the memory foam and it doesnt have to cost an arm and a leg and before I send anyone out to pay lots of money for one I encourage you to go to Walmart and buy one of the bed toppers but make sure it is at least 2-4 inches in thinkness and give it a try first,if it works then you can look inot the cost of a better permenant mattress. The topper may be all you will ever need and even Walmart carries the equivalant of a full mattress for less then $250 in my area.
Heating pad may work also on the inflammation and pillows under the knees also may aid in better alignment of the hips.
If it giving you trouble thru the day try using the therma pads and they make one for hips and I think they are a godsend myself, the drugstores all have their own brand now so they are nowhere near as expensive as they first were.
There is not a anti-inflam otc that would not effect your GI problems and even though some prescription ones are still on the market they still do not like to prescribe them if they can get around it. There are older meds like Indocin that seem to help some folks some of the time without causing GO problems but again this is something your Doc will have to decide.
Dont let this go too long without making an appointment to try to figureout what is going on.
Good luck to you!
