Ok another problem but maybe its a helpful one!

Dear Donna,
I'm so sorry to hear of the diagnosis - and for the second time. I don't know anything about the treatments and I thought it was a good sign that even back in the 90's there was medication to help you. It has to have improved since then. But from the little I know of lyme disease your pain and fatigure certainly could be related.

I would also encourage you to find a good therapist to talk with and help you sort out your feelings. Try to find someone who works with pain and/or physical illnesses along with traditional things like depression and anxiety - which probably most of us on this site have at least from time to time, if not on a regular basis. And we're here for support, as always. I don't know if there's a lyme disease section on HW - you could scan the list of conditions above. If not, in addition to us maybe searching for some credible lyme disease info. would also be good. We all have to be educated consumers, but you already know some things.

Hi Donna: I live in a rural area and I too have gotten Lymes on top of everything else but I responded well to the antibotics ( spelling ?) then I got the vaccine and so far so good. Ticks are horrible this year !
Thanks for the tip on seeking professional help --been done the therapist road before never met one that did not depress me. I would be the best I could be given all my problems go into the therapists office and get depressed ! I ' tried nine different therapist MD's, PhD's, MSa's - T hen there is their answer to everything which is anti-depressents which made me a walking -talking Zombie. While some pills work well for other's anti pills do not set well with me. When the Lymes hit me I good not get out of bed ! really I could not get out of bed I was taken to the hospital with all my doctors thinking my brain swelling increased and I had some type of stroke. A thousand test's later ______________ Here Iam. Anything i can do Please feel free to ask !

Ever thing about getting rid of the "petting zoo"? Probably have a lot less exposure to nasty things that bite, i.e. ticks, fleas... Not that your geese and goat are nasty, although I bet they do "bite" on occassion. I don't get how you can take care of all those animals. I'm lucky if I can clean up after my cats. Sorry about the Lymes.

Hey Cranky 1 : Love Your name ! Cranky 1: Fruit Loops came into my life prior to my accident, geese just showed up one day and never left. Our funny farm is a great source of entertainment for me. Also have a deer, female who my son' found in a leg trap as a fawn,-they bought her home and the Vet wanted to put her to sleep since she could not survive in the wild and no zoo would take her so here She is. Due to the leg loss and lack of proper feeding as a fawn ,She never grew to full size. She's really old now and hangs out with Fruit Loops. Ticks are not on the animals as we have tick preventative on all of them. Out home is heavily wooded and the ticks jump out of the bushes and trees to attack us. Everyday we check for ticks on us this is a really bad year every one is complaining. Once ( God forbid ) Fruit Loops leaves us our Goat days are over and if the geese decided to leave they would not be replaced but would be missed. Guess I would be longly and I always wanted another ass ( donkey ) so .......?

Hi Donna: What great news ! What great news ! now that the Good is covered let's take care of the bad that "may" happpen ! Meds for Lyme are powerful, they caused me to have severe heartburn and later mouth sores. but both the heartburn and mouth sores were easily handled but yet other meds. Bright side is soon You will be feeling better. If i were You I would get the vaccine next year ! Thanks for the good news. Tom

Dagger thank you so much! I have been studing on it a lot. I also have to let everyone know that someone picked up my med for me and its doxcyline and the kicker of it all is it a 14 day supply   In which by reading i know is not anough!!!! So now i am back to square one with the worries! I dont know if the pcp knows what she is doing!

Lyme can cause depression, sleep apnea, fibromyalgia-like symptoms, headaches, IBS, nerve pain, arthritis, chronic sinus infections, plus many, many other symptoms. You may have still been sick from your first infection.

Many people also get other diseases when they get Lyme. These diseases are hard to test for and hard to treat. You have a tough journey ahead of you, and I have to say it again - Educate yourself!

Tom - the Lyme vaccine was taken off the market because it caused bad side effects such as arthritis, expecially in people already infected when they got the vaccine.
