For A Complete Change Of Pace!!!

I have never posted something like this, but It might take your mind of your pain even for 5 minutes!

A few weeks ago our cat had a litter of 5 kittens. They are all absolutly adorable,  one has all grey fur who is more chunky than others and there are 2 with mixed black and white and one has a strip of white up her face. The smallest grey and white one is the one we are going to keep, she has the most beutifull blue eyes, and the last one who has such thick only black fur whith grey eyes. they are all about 4 weeks old and so far, have been living in our closet.They are making thier way into the hallway a litle bit but not much.

It's crazt at nighttime when we are trying to get some sleep ,there trying to climb up our bed and plainf hide and go seek under all the buers and tv, We just love them to death.

 

The problem is all our friends want one asap, but there not eating on thier own just yet, Some do more than others but I think we will wait another week. Also I am going to be so depressed when we give them away because she is going to be looking for her babies and they will be gone!

 

Can anyone give any advise so not to have such a bad scene when the day comes, for us and the momma kat. She keps talking to them all day and night as it is.............

 

I know this isnt pain but for once I'll try somthing else!!

I agree with Chutz. Mama Cat will be fine. You are so lucky to have
people who actually WANT the kittens. Sometimes multiples kittens
go to the SPCA where they are rarely adoped because there are so many.
You're a good pet owner ... but for others who aren't so lucky
and compassionate, Spay and Neuter!

crps ... I love different subjects. I kinda get out of pain whenever I come here, but
new things are fun fun fun.

Awww, I am just imaging them all, so cute and tiny, litte pudgy things wobbling and jumping around!!! It's great that you have people that want them, though even if they went to a shelter, usually kittens get adopted pretty quickly. At least in my area they do. I was looking for a kitten a few months ago at various shelters, though I really wanted a calico. I had applied for several kittens, but someone else always beat me to them. I was thinking...there are so many kittens born and other unwanted animals, I couldnt understand why it was taking so long to get one. But finally I found such an adorable calico at a local shelter. I applied the day I saw it on the pet adoption site. I went to fill out the applications and bring proof of my other cats shots, etc. Well, that was a Friday afternoon and I couldnt go there that day. When I finally got there on Monday, they said another old man came in and said he wanted either the calico or another black kitten, so they said he would have first dibs. I thought I wouldnt get the kitten again. But several days later they called and told me to come get her!! OMGGG Maybe they mentioned to the man that someone else really wanted her and maybe he took the black one, I don't know. But they approved me and I've had my calico since late May and she is wonderful. She was about 8 weeks old to the shelter's estimate. Actually the shelter said they don't adopt out any kittens until they are about 8 weeks old. I also think the mama will be fine, though you might want to wait until the kits are a few weeks older, as they need alot of attention, warmth, feeding, etc...and the mother does teach them alot in that short time. But of course, that is just a suggestion on my part. Good luck with the baby you are keeping..I am sure she will add alot of joy to your home!

I agree with everyone else, Momma cat will be just fine and 6 to 8 weeks is the ideal time for kittens to start off on their own. I think maybe Momma cat isn't the only one having separation issues. lol It's hard to give up those cute little balls of fur and energy but you know the circle of life and all that.

Thank You soooo much H.W. for all you more than honest and sincere answers.At this point, they are absolutly adorable!!! I mean I would love to keep up my macho type guy attitude, but there is no way I can when thier so adorable and playful! There"s 2 of them that such fat little asses, that when they walk the waddle back and forth with thier butts.(it remindes me of that kids movie the aristocats).

 

So all the info I got from everyone here is the same by talking to the local pet smart places as well. Thier all taken by really  deacent homes, who will do the right thing with them all.(they all have the cat litter boxes and $20 of toys and all ahve a mini bed!, with pans on getting them fixed asap)

 

Meanwhile scince I've got so used to them it's going to be hard to give them away!!!! I mean there is NO way I'm going to have 6 cats in my house, but right now it looks like we will have three. And thats alot more than i had planned on in the first place.I'm definatly going to miss all of them climbing up my bed at 4am and playing until either my wife or myself wake up to play for an hour, or until they get puckerd out! The grey and white one will sit in front of my face at night until I wake up, by just easily smacking me on the face(no claws) and as soon as I open my eyes he jumps with excitement and is ready to go!!!!!

 

Well I just wanted to say thanks again I really do appreciate all the interest and it was a fun topic instead of talking about my pain at an 8or9 and give me some meds!!!!!!! thing.

Yeah it'll be harder on you for having to give them away, then on the momma cat!
Sorry about that...But hey three kitties will still be a challenge....
What are you gonna name your cuties, that you keep?
