MIA - flareville again...

Hi all, just wanted to say hello... I haven't read back through the posts yet, so I apologize I don't know what's up with you all, but know I'm thinking of you all.

PaLady....I hope you are okay! I've missed you tons! I'm so sorry I haven't gotten that other party post up - this flare just knocked me for a loop.

I've had a cruddy cruddy week again - back in a flare and just down for the count. I'm right back where I always am with this - no help from the docs who say they know their stuff. PM doesn't want me taking any meds strong enough to really help, neurosurgeon still hasn't called me back, PCP is trying to help but we're still tied up with the other docs so can't just depend on him yet... ***sigh***



Oh, I just want to scream. Or cry. Or both. I just can't get how this is okay. It's like an invisible monster and it hides when the bigwig docs are looking!

Anyhow... Just wanted to let you all know I wasn't blowing you off. I've been praying for you all and I'll try to catch back up on the posts again to see how you are all doing. Scarred, have you moved? Lara, how are the shots going? PaLady, my friend, how are you dear? Really?

I've missed you all - I'll try to come up with a party thread soon. Thanks for being here.

RY!! I'm so sorry you've been miserable, my friend! Have you considered trying to get a consultation with someone totally outside of the medical team who works with you but can't seem to decide if you need to be miserable or have quality to your life? Maybe call a teaching university/hospital closest to you and ask. Be up front always when it comes to pain and meds but someone needs to get off their cabooses and do something. It's unconscionable for them to treat you this way. THEY wouldn't tolerate it.

PaLady, Linda, Kara, Chutz, & Mala... Thank you SO much for your kind words and sweet thoughts. This has been a tough couple of weeks, and your support means the world to me! I called the neurosurgeon today and they left me a message later saying they "couldn't find" my records and would I call them and tell them what the names of my previous docs/hospitals were. Ummm.... Hello? That was all in the paperwork I filled out while I was at your office! And this is a big fancy teaching/research university! ARGH! If I don't get some answers from them by the end of the week I may have to cave and call my PCP and ask him to up my meds. I know he'd probably do it, but then I'll have to deal with the PM flipping out about it probably. At this point I don't really care! I just need a little break!

PaLady, I am glad they caught the possum, but I hope they get rid of those other varmints soon too! Mine are still there too. They don't seem to take the bait on the traps. Eeeww...

Hello Ry, Im so sorry to hear you havent been doing so well lately...I think there are a few of us on here that have been in a flare up wonder if it has anything to do with the weather changing..

Got my 3rd shot monday last and didnt do so well with that one and been out of commison as well for almost 7 days grrrrr its so frustrating isnt it...even missed all week of work it was so bad,,,but oh well its another week right just have to think postive.

But it's also ok if you're not up for anything right now. I just can't imagine after working a full week....

I didn't know you were missing as I have been missing as well.
I am so sorry that your in such pain and not getting the help you need. I read all you replies and sounds to me like you are a great member on this board and that you were not only missed but worried about as well.

Ry, oh boy do I know that feeling.  I've said to my husband if a "normal' person felt this way they would be sure they were dying ! I'm sorry you feel that way. I hate it. I have recently come out of a flare and it always amazes me how bad I felt.  It's like you don't really realize how bad it is(was) until you feel a little better and you're like wow, that was really bad.  Hopefully you will be coming out on the other side soon.  That's what I try to remember, that it has gotten better in the past, so it will again.
