Laassh,
I think I spelled you name wrong again, lol. I have three dogs, 2 golden retrievers and a brittany Spaniel. All 3 are inside dgs and they are spoiled rotten but so much company to me. I have talked to all my dogs starting the first day they came here. They really understand alot of the things I tell them. We have had a total of 4 goldens and its a breed we truly love. They are very smart and so mild mannered. Once you get them to the age of 2 things are much better, its just surviving them until they turn 2. The little Brittany is just the cutest little guy he just turned 2 and when he came he chewed up all my new floor basings, ate the corners off. Of yes, he had plenty of chewys but these were better. He is liver and white with yellow eyes. He melts me with those eyes. He was very hyper until he would see a bird, then I don't think he breaths. I have never known him to sit and be so quiet. I love to watch him with the birds. He is my husband's 2nd Brittany. He hunted with the other one and said this one would have been cracker jack bird dog, had he been trained. My husband is no longer able to bird hunt.
My older golden his name is Jake, he came to me as a stray. He had been on the loose quite a while according to vet from looking at his toe nails and his teeth were ground down the vet said from chewing a chain link fence. Jake was about 2 when he hit here. He had health issues, heart worms, whip worms, then of course all the shots and finally neutering. He cost me some $ the first month I had him. He is worth every penny the companionship I get from him. But, he came to me for a reason and that was to have a good safe home the rest of his life. He has always been my boy.
The Brittany was bought about 4 months after we had to put our older Golden down he was 13 and just worn out. His name was Willy. He had a wonderful life too, very much like a kid. He rode the sea doos with my son & husband. We went to the lake camping nearly every weekend and he loved the boat and the sea doos. Those ears would just flap in the wind riding with my husband. He was one smart boy. But, my husband decided for reasons unknown to get another Brittany. He said Jake needed a buddy since Willy was gone. Him being a pup and Jake so old, would put up with just so much then he would put Britt in his place.
The newest addition is my first female Golden and she is beautiful and very big. We got her at 4 months and she will be 1 in April and tips the scales at 85. She is very tall and long legged. She is the most destructive dog I have ever owned. She ate a hole in the carpet, chewed on hubby's leather recliner, chewed a zipper on my couch cushion, chewed on the woodwork some more., outside she chews limbs off my shrubs!! She has chewed on my patio furniture. Her name is Jazzmine and she is terrible, but I love the big ole thing. She is sweet but destructive. She has no idea how big she is and she is like a bull moose in a china shop.
I do understand your longing for one of your dogs honey. They are just so much company. Mine are right by my side when I am not feeling good.
My what a change of scenery living in Colorado and then going to school in New Mexico. Are you attending school in Las Cruces, I cannot remember the name of the college there. Cruces is an interesting town.
I hope you are having some low pain days. Keep posting and let us know how you are doing. Hugs, Susie
