Tramadol (Ultram) causes muscle pain and heartburn?

I've been wondering about this. It seems if I take a large amount of tramadol (within prescribed limit), I wake up the next day with sore muscles all over my body. It's like I got beat up the night before. Exercise soreness seems a little different to me, as it's in a more specific area. I also seem to get heartburn from the drug, but that could be from my Pentasa or uncontrolled Crohn's disease. Have you ever had these problems?

I've taken Tramadol for the last 5 years. I have never had the symptoms that you describe. Of course we all react differently to medications. Could it be that tramadol is easing your pain enough that you are sleeping more soundly and not moving as much in your sleep thereby making you more stiff in theb AM? Just a theory....

I friend of mine had heartburn and stomach aches from Tramadol. Don't know the amounts she took however. Only know she had to stop as the benefits didn't outweight the discomfort.

I take Ultracet, works better for me than just Tramadol. Anyways, I feel like I was "beat up" with our without previously taking it. Like today I woke up that way, but was doing great yesterday. Maybe the higher dosage makes a diff.

I take most of my meds at night with dinner and always whatever/whenever drink lots of water with my pills.

I know a few people that had to stop tramadol due to stomach problems.

Are you more active after you've taken a higher dose of tramadol? Sometimes just doing a bit extra, maybe without even realizing it, can give you extra soreness the next day.

If not, you may want to check with your doc or pharmacist about the muscle pain. I don't think tramadol causes the serious muscle complications you can get with statins but you should check it out to be safe.

I take 200 mgs of Tramadol ER at night. I do get a slight stomach ache but with everything else that goes along with CP its nothing but a thing. I get sore muscles well ok REALLY sore muscles but i don't think its from this medication. I work in a warehouse in Inventory COntrol so I am moving boses of all sizes all day long doing counts.
