I'm so sorry to hear that you're having a rough time.

May I ask..are you a chronic pain patient too?

Are you being followed by a doctor for your addiction? If not, I'd suggest trying to find a Methadone clinic if you're willing and able. There are a lot of compassionate addiction counselors out there (my brother-in-law's father is one of them!) who could work with you and your addiction.

Is your ultimate goal coming off of methadone or would you be ok with methadone maintenance?

Are you on anything for the depression?

I'm on methadone but for pain so I can't say I understand what you are going through in terms of battling this addiction..but please know that you aren't alone.

Yes, I would.

Although I am married, and don't have an addiction to Methadone, I have been taking it since July of 2008, 3 times a day.

Mine is by perscriiption, and if I didn't take the Methadone I be screeming from pain.

There are lots of people to talk with about it, but I understand what you mean; even amongst the people who take other relief from pain control it is harder to find someone who specifically understand your situation.

I'm so sorry to hear of your problem. I trust you are referring to an addiction formed through medical use of methadone, rather than illegal use (which is prohibited to talk about here). I have had many friends go through the intense emotional and physiological pains of withdrawal. Too often one falls into despair and depression when going through such an ordeal. Please remember that keeping your body healthy will tend to help out our mental condition: Eat healthily, exercise as much as possible, and keep people around that care about your health. This last one is the most important one, in my opinion.
