please help head pain nausea pins and needles

Hi

Please help I'm 40 years old, for the past six weeks I have suffered from really bad head pain every day, but for the last 3 weeks it has got even worse I feel so nausea, have not a actually vomited I get pin and needles in my hand and legs, I am now bed bound and have also lost a stone weight because i just feel so ill. I have seen my own gp several time with no joy, I have seen 2 neurologist the first one said migraine the 2 one said mussel damage in my neck, i don't think nether of them know, i went for a ct scan on Wednesday I'm still waiting on the results.

please please help if think you may know whats wrong

Are your arms and legs cold or cool to the touch? While the natural first thought is a nerve related issue of some kind, a circulation problem could be the problem too.

Welcome to the chronic pain forum of Healing Well. So sorry you have to be here, but it's the best group on the internet for support, IMHO. But we aren't doctors and can't give medical advice. So it sounds like you need to keep pressing your doctors for more answers.

For many of us, it's a long journey finding the right doctor, or team of doctors/health care providers, and the right tests to get an accurate diagnosis. Jim is right it could be other things, and often is a combination of them.

Are you anywhere near a major teaching hospital where you could go and have a thorough work-up by a number of specialists? That would be one thought I'd have.

I'm sure others will be along that maybe have other ideas, but at least we can help support you as you seek answers.

Thanks for the replies, I'm going to call my doctor again tomorrow as i have have such awful painful weekend. I feel I cant take much more of this.

Will be thinking of you, and hope the mri's give your doctors some answers or clues
as to what is happening and from there you'll be referred out to other doctor's, you might
want to consider getting a pain management doctor, but wait and see what the mri's says...
Lots and lots of soft hugz, there are a lot of nice people here and they'll have better answers for you..

Sorry to hear of all the pain, Joanne.

I myself have been dealing with constant face and head pain. When I have had migraines I would get awfully nauseous but never quite got sick. I would have to hide from any noise or light for awhile, so going to work was always out of the question. They would bolt me right out of bed sometimes when the came on. Ugh! Your pins and needles in your hands sounds nerve related. I know with my trigeminal neuralgia I will have that kind of sensation in my head/scalp, so combing my hair is no fun.

I agree with the others, find another doc, a hosp. of another sort to run more tests. I wish you some relief. ((HUGS))

Hi

Thanks to all replies,

I have just spoken to the hospital regarding my CT results to find out that the consultant has gone on holiday and my results haven't even been looked at, I just feel so let down, it just like no one cares anymore, My consultant said he would only see me again if something showed up on the scan as he was confident that I would get better with the amitriptyline, feel NO better so where do I go here.

Hi

Just a quick up date scan came back normal, amitriptilne seem to be helping with the pain now. I just had my firs trip out in a month, still feel a bit weak after a month in bed i am keeping my fingers crossed at im on my way up thanks for all the support

Have the pins and needles stopped too? Happy to hear you are feeling better and the CT scan came back clean.
