Thanks, Jag, Dani and Dagger, I'll take your advice, been using a mild laxative but still no movement yet...sort of dreading it as the waterworks was agony day 1 after the catheter removed. Jag the graber sounds great, I've been using my 9 year old!!! And Dani, thank you, my friends have been complaining about my impossible timetable... I just feel for as long as my kids want me I'll stay involved in the various activities. My daughter is 16 now and has basically given up all activities except soccer. I'm sure the boys will go the same way as they get older.
My parents never came to any matches or productions I was in, I want my kids to remember my support. I am naturally a high energy person so I prefer to be involved rather than waiting on the side lines! But I have pulled back, dropped all my committees this year. The RA has impacted on how much I can do.
I am being good, I'll try to walk today as they told me to walk in the hospital but I won't go far. My joints need some movement.
My specialist rang me last night to see how I was going, he seems a bit eccentric! He says, have you started the HRT yet. I said, no, you told me to start on Friday, but I haven't had any hot flashes or anything yet, should I wait? His response, some people never take HRT, you don't need to take it!!! I mean I was just asking should I wait till next week??? I think I'll ring my GP. He told me to dry my portals with a hairdryer after my shower, I didn't dare tell him I don't own one! I've just been padding them dry and changing the dressing if its wet. One keeps leaking and he said you'll be most sore with the two left side portals. He seems a bit crazy, I'm glad the surgery is behind me. I'll just use common sense to deal with them I think.
