Sleep

 

Anyone else here have that much of a problem sleeping?

     Good morning   I hope it isnt too cold where you are. It is down right chilly here! It should warm up nicly throught he day thou, I m hoping.

 

    Yes, I too, have insomnia. I do not stay up though. I wake more times than I can count. I know my spine specialist has a hard time keeping me knocked out for my "injection series" aswell. No staying up thou, just waking many many times through the night. I am down right exhausted thou. Normally I fall asleep ~~> jerk awake *hua?* then fall back sleep. they tell me it isnt anything I am doing wrong. They tell me it is my brain recieving pain signals. *shruggs*  6am comes fast hehe.

 

     I was wondering thou, why you take OTC benadryl with "trazadone" thou. Did your doctor recommend that combination?

 

     I too, take an anti depressant, but I know most folks do not like it or on very low dose due to the extreme side effects

     Dear Jeff,

 

     Have you ever looked into having a sleep study done? I know some others here on the board have had them done, and have had considerable good results with the treatment planns that followed.

 

      My first and second  "injection series" nurse told me they stopped counting after first 30 mins. Said wasnt anything I was doing wrong, just my brain recieving signals. Honestly, I had thought I had just had the best nap in years.... *shruggs*  After that I was put on high doses of meds for slowing brain activity and  joint inflammation.   Not sure what the deal is, but I do know I am not allowed to take anything extra with my meds. not even OTC. Something about potentially dangerous / hazardous side effects even with benadryl.... so that why I asked about your particular combination   I do not take any of the medicines you do thou.

Jeffro, I'm confused. You take Vivarin & caffeinated candy to stay awake during the day but then can't sleep at night. Sounds like you may have gotten yourself on a roller coaster. Maybe try taking a small nap or two during the day instead of the caffeine cause maybe all the caffeine is keeping you awake at night. I know if my husband even drinks a pepsi after 4 in the afternoon he can't get to sleep at night. My meds make me groggy during the day if I try to sit and read or watch tv too long. If I get sleepy I try to get up and do something around the house or if the weather is cooperating I take a walk. Maybe if you can get to sleeping better at night you won't be so groggy during the day. Hope I didn't sound like I was trying to get down on your case or anything. Just seems like your not getting any sleep anytime and that can cause your pain levels to escalate. As far as waking up in pain that happens to me and alot of times I heat up the old rice bag, climb into the recliner and can then sleep with my body in a different position than just lying flat in bed.
