Need good pain management Dr around WV

Wv.girl Here Hi Everyone its been awhile since i have posted on here.Have had alot of Dr appointments and different things going on.Im hoping someone will see my post and answer me.I have had breast cancer in 2008 survived that.I hurt my back in 2001 have a pain pump for that .Now i have a tumor on Lung and my Lung dr sent me too a cardio thoracic surgeon.The hospital he is at i dont like.Im looking into two other hospitals.I have had a pain pump since 2008 and it has never helped me.Im on oxycodone for pain.30 mg. Between the pain pump and pain pills nothing is helping the pain.Im having severe pain in back and legs.Plus i stepped on my cats tail last week and fell and broke my right hand and fingers. I ask myself what else is going to happen?Im right handed so its kinda hard for me to type.They think the tumor is cancer in my lung.My family wants me to stay with the surgeon where we live.But i dont like hospital.I have a bad feeling about it.As for my pain management Dr i have told him how much pain im in im on daulqadid medicine in pain pump but its noyt helping.Im changing my pm and primary dr too. Does anyone know a good pain management Dr around wv or close to it?If so can someone let me know.Ill travel if i have too.I wanted to say hello to everyone .Hope everyone gets well.

Hi wv.girl it has been a a little while since you last posted. T am sorry things are not going well for you! First off let me say if you are not happy or uncomfortable  with your, Doctor, Surgeon, or Hospital,,  then by all means change and go to or see some you are comfortable with!  With your condition it is very important that you not only feel comfortable with them but also have the up most condidence with them!  If you don't  then please find somebody or some hospital that you do  have confidence in! That goes for your PM Doc too! If the treatment you are receiving is not helping you then you definitely need to have your treatment changed! I don't know the W.V area but I am sure that some one will be able to give you some advice about that area soon! wv.girl I hope you keep posting anf keep us all informed of your progress,  I am glad you came back!

Thank you White Beard.Can i ask where you are from? my husband is retired army.He is having some problems dealing with ASlcohol.Wish he would post on here.he says he doesnt have a problem.he is retired army Been to veit nam three years 67 68 69. he is 66 now im 51 .He has more energy than me. I guess its my health that keeps me down.Im glad you replied .Its good to chat with someone that has been thru back problems too.I see you have been on oxycodone for awhile and you take percoset too. I think i need my medicine stronger. The pump is 3.4 something dauladid and i take oxy but its not controling the pain.i dont know what else they can do .I wish you well. It is nice to chat to someone every now and then. ill pray for you to get well. wv .girl

I live in the Mid west in Illinois, Yes I do know what it is like to have back problems as do allot of others here on this forum. I do wish that you did not have such a problem with your pain! You really do need to have a Pian Management Doctor who will listen to you and get your pain under proper control!
As for Alcohol problems really the person that has the drinking problem has to be abe to confront it and acknowledge it to be able to at least do anything about it. They do have programs for the family members of aloholics to attend to learn how to cope with living with them! Maybe you should try and check that out if your husband will not acknowledge that he has a problem! You might want to check with your closest VA first!

wv.girl yes it is nice to chat with someone every now and then, sepecially if they understand what you are going through! So Please do come here often! I am always here as is a host of others that are all willing and eager to listen and help and support you! Just remember you are not alone in any of this!
