Well, the PM gave me a script of Morphine 15mg IR about a week or so ago, and I posted here  that they weren't working at all. I put in a call right away to the PM Doc, and like always, Im still waiting to hear from them. Yesterday, I took whatever were left of the bottle of pills and went to their office and turned them back in to them. The nurse looked at me like I was crazy, and said no one ever does that. I told her that they simply weren't working at all. and I did not see any reason to take them anymore. I also asked if the Doc had figured out what he was going to do next, and she pointed to a pile of paper work, and said he hadn't gotten to it yet. She said she would put the returned pills with my paperwork for him to review. I just cant believe it takes this long to get something done.

Thats messed up. Did she at least put your paper work with the pills on top, since your without pain meds? Hope everything works out quickly for you. Hugs, and good luck.

Yes, she told me she would do that. also I still have my Percocet's from my PCD, so Im not without. It's a mess....and I hope all will work out in the end, but right now my PCD is giving me the Percocet, and the PM is working on another drug to give me in addition to them. Once I get in totally with the PM, he will take over all the Pain Meds. I hope this dosn't confuse anyone

     Good mroning *hugg* It is good to hear from you. How are you feeling this AM? Much of the same or were you able to get a little rest? I hope so, thou I fear not.

 

     I am ever so sorry you are still having to jump through so many hoops!! I am running terribly late here and need to get going for the long drive but I did want to send a *warm hugg* and know your in our hearts and prayers

Dani, Thanks for the Hugs and thoughts. I have not yet been comfortable with my pain level. The percocet did help at one time in my life a couple of yrs ago, but not much help latley. It is very much a strain on my mental well being to live this way 24/7. I can only hope that the PM will come through for me soon, as I need the rest from this. I will keep everyone  posted with new information as soon as I find out something. This is a terrible way to live each day, and hope seems to be getting further away. I will make it somehow though.

Screaming Eagle....I understand why you took back the bottle, but I would be concerned that it wasn't properly documented and it would be your word against hers...I might have waited until they had another script ready then took them back....Maybe ask for a reciept for the pills you took back...

 

I'm not saying that anything will happen, but.......

 

If they aren't working then they arent working...so, what's next on the rollercoaster of pain meds?

 

My appt. was today and the Doc was going to lower my methadone from 120 mg. a day to 80 a day and add Opana Er 20 mg. 2 times a day...But, my insurance went all flubbed up so instead I am taking 150 mg. of methadone...no Opana ER, and Oxycodone 30's for BT pain....

 

Have you tried Opana Er?

Im taking only 3X #10 325mg Percocet's. Im still waiting on a call from the PM, and everything is all screwed up with them, as I wait for a week or more to hear from them. My PCD will only give me the current dosage of meds that Im on, and no more. The PM is suposed to give me what I need beyond that, and so far it hasn't worked that way very well. I think, Im getting ready to just call and schedule the surgery as I cant take much more of this, and Im getting worse by the month. Getting sharp pains in my back now several times a day.

This frustration is, as I'm sure you've gathered from reading many of the posts here, way too common, but it's sure not a reason to schedule surgery! Still, it may mean it's a good time to get a couple of good opinions on surgery, and weigh all your options.

I think the hard truth is that even with surgery, you may end up needing some pain medication, but maybe not, or maybe a lot less than what you need now. All depends on what's wrong, and what options are available. Be sure to get a second opinion before surgery, but maybe it will be the way for you to go. It's possible to wait too long, too, especially if a nerve is being compressed/injuired because nerves after a couple of years may not regenerate.

Wish I had better news.
