UGH...It's actually snowing in South Houston right now, the flakes are big and it's not all sticking yet to the ground...
my hubby is at work and I hope he can come home early before the rush hour crazies a lot of roads will be slick
especially the one he usually takes home from work as it's a major ramp/bridge so finger's crossed he makes it home safe...
Lucky by noon tomorrow it's all supposed to be gone....but Snow....not funny y'all....snow wow....

I heard on the news this am about the snow in H town.  Wow and so early.

yes I hope your hubby will be okay with all those crazy drivers now acting like they forgot how to drive cuz there is a bit of snow on ground.  I get that here in NC too.  I am orignally from MI so snow is no problem for me it is ICE that is the issue.

But your in my thoughts and prayers.  So after you worry a bit I want you to look at the snow and enjoy it. Also know just like people no two snowflakes are alike!

   Hey Chart!...whats the problem down there!....its has to snow a foot here, before it knocks us off the roads up here! :) (KS)  Ice is a problem no matter where you are though... :(

Hey Char we had it Wed morning and it was totally awesome. But it only stayed about 2 hours its just been too warm here for it to stick around. I bet yours doesn't last either. We may have a chance for some tonight so totally unusual for Tx at this time of year. Our ground is still way too warm for the white stuff to hang around.

We are getting snow here in San Antonio. The kids think its great. Glad I don't have go anywhere. Stay safe everyone.

It is supposed to snow here tomorrow. My kids are all excited, got out their snow pants, hats, gloves and are ready to pull out the sleds.......me, I don't want snow yet.....

Wow, here I was thinking about moving south but who wants the snow. I lived in it most of my life in Montana, Indiana and Illinois. No snow here in Oregon. Cold but sun is out. Chart I will keep you all in my prayers. Stay warm.

Ah, snow! We're do for some of that tomorrow night, but I live in New England, so it's something you expect this time of year & so we're always prepared for it. Your snow must have really caught you off guard, Char! I hope you at least got to enjoy its beauty. I love snow (minus driving in it & cleaning off my car & shoveling, haha).

That is crazy! I'm in central New York, and we've barely had any snow here. I can't believe Houston has already had some! Hopefully you get the chance to enjoy it! Drive safe and watch out for ice!

I saw Houston's snowfall on the news tonight. Wow. A good hit, from the looks of it. We were supposed to have some but so far the winds are blowing it up to Buffalo, where they are always ready to shovel! LOL

As far as I'm concerned the snow can stay away for a long, long time, but I realize it's right on our doorstep - esecially if Houstin is getting it!

Stay inside - safe and warm!

We had just a flake or two today, but it has been cold. We got up to 24 degrees this afternoon around 3 PM. it is suppose to be in the teens tonight! I dread to see winter come !

We are already down to 29 here in FW. May have some snow tonight but I am not holding my breath. This is just so unusual for us. I was raised in Kentucky and we had snow every winter. Oh, I do remember the sleds, snowball fights and big bonfires and hot chocolate & roasting marshmallows. Those were the days for a kid. They always shut down the hill my relatives lived on and talk about some sleigh riding, we did it. I wish my little grandson could experience something like that. He told us tonight he did not have time to play outside the morning it snowed here, he had to go to school and just did not have the time, lol.

You a all so lucky, i envy you all,

We just do not get wonderful snow here in OZ, except if i travel to a ski resort in the mountains which is a 7 hour drive.
Amd is costs a fortune to stay overnight.

My kids get so excited when it hails rain, they gather the hail up and try and build a snowman before our Autralian Sun decides to melt it out.

We always dream on xmas eve that oneday santa will bring us snow, so far santa brings hot temps35- 41 degrees and everyone is having a aussie bbq near there pools or down by the beach, i went to greece in the eightiees it was amazing the snow was so white and thick and just gorgeous . i will never forget it just stunning.

Wish i could be there on a snowy xmas day

Hi Chart,

Well it ain't snowing here but it feels like it's gonna! It's raining and in the low 50's and is going to be in the 30's tonight!!! I'm sure it will be all over the news if we get snow here!!! It's yucky outsiode, it reminds me of Jersey weather!

I remember when we lived in Austin back in the early 80's and the snow & ice storms would just shut everything down!!! Your right, those drivers were Crazy!!! The news crews would set up at an intersection and record the crashes they knew were coming! Then a day or 2 later it would be warm again!

Well, The snow didn't stay long, but it iced over the freeway's and many car accidents resulted,
lots of injuries, someone said they stomped on the brakes and that's the worse thing you can do
never stomp on the brakes when you hit ice...kept hearing the fire sirens going last night (that was sad) .

My hubby"s work let him come home early yesterday, which was good.. so we stayed home
and had tea, strawberry kiwi, I got some cookies baked and turned on some heat...
we'll be at 70 f again on Tuesday...

I Think all the kids around here had a blast with the snow, as most kids here never see snow, the flakes were huge..

Hey Char aren't they nuts when the Texans see a snow flake. They jump in their cars and run to the grocery store and buy it out like they are setting in for the winter, lol. They get on the roads and drive 70 MPH, then they come upon a bridge slam on the brakes, and do 360's across the bridge, its a hoot and they never learn don't hit your brakes on the ice, lol. I for the life of me have never figured out why Texans cannot drive like sane people when it comes to ice.

They are saying we might get a little snow Sunday night but the best chance for the white stuff is Monday night and right now they days 3 plus inches of the stuff! I hope they are wrong! I uses to like the stuff but any more I can live without it just fine!

We finally got snow here last night. I'm from Iowa originally and one of my roommates is from Minnesota, so we're not worried about it at all. My other roommate though, she's from southern Virginia and has never driven on snow before. Told me she's not going to church tomorrow morning because she doesn't want to drive on the snow. We're going to take her to a parking lot and make her do spin around for awhile, get her used to it. I know I shouldn't laugh, but the poor thing was almost in tears at the thought of having to clean the snow off of her car every morning. When I told her my hometown has had years with 100 days of snow on the ground, she about lost it!

Hahaha, you should all come to NZ. Its summertime(: so beautiful and warm.
I bet snow is amazing, is it snowing like on your house ?!? Thats crazy. It dosnt snow here, we have to drive four hours to ski. Hope everyone is safe - keep warm and toasty.

I have been to allot of places, Germany, Taiwan, allover the US, and Alaska twice, two years in Anchorage and 4 years just outside of Fairbanks, but there are two countries I have always wanted to go to, and have never been there yet! One of them is Ireland and the other is your home New Zealand! I have read up allot on both places, but I have always wanted to see your country! Maybe some day maybe I will! and since they filmed my favorite movie in your country I have really wanted to go there! Do they still have the Shire there from the movie?



Oh and if you want to see really cold weather, you should go to Fairbanks Alaska! Now they have really cold weather there! When I was stationed there, we used to take a fresh cup of hot coffee and go outside and toss the coffee up in the air, it would Hiss, steam, and sizzle, and turn to ice crystals and never hit the ground as a liquid! It had to be at least 45 below zero or colder to be able to do that! One year we went 6 weeks in the winter where the warmest it got was 30 below zero during the day! That was a very cold winter that year! and we had lots of snow! That was back in the mid 80's! We would get our first snow fall in September, and by October the ground was covered in snow, and sometimes it would be there till the middle of May!

I Hate to be the one to give bad news, but I woke up this morning and looked outside and the road and my drive way and everything is white! there is no color except my Blue Christmas lights! I thought at first it was my meds, or maybe I wasn't awake and just dreaming as my world out side is just black and white and dingy grey, with the smattering of the blue from the lights. I rubbed my eyes and looked again, and realized I was was wide awake and not dreaming! Mother nature has pulled her cruel joke on us and gave us our first **** ( I just can't get myself to say that nasty four letter word that begins with an "S") of the season! It is just a dusting but I am sure it is warning of what lies ahead! Whoa is me, I have to go into town this morning!

The only proper way to end this post is: Baa! Hum-Bug!........

I'm with you! Around here it's just been a dusting of snow - SO FAR! BUT even worse is the temps around 32 degrees that's been leading to a lot of icing at night and a lot of accidents. I dread this. Oh, how I dread this!

And I guess my swamee prediction that your house would sell before the snow flies isn't going to come true. So much for my crystal ball skills! LOL

You need to trade in that crystal ball, I was sure hoping it was right! I want out of here so bad! I want to go where it is in the 60's and low 70's during the day and 40's and 50's at night with low humidity and it is like that year around! Is there such a place?

I wouldn't suggest Kansas White Beard. We do have nice weather but it is windy a lot here. I don't think it's supposed to be much above freezing this next week and my hubby came up from watching the weather channel and if they are right (which is a stretch to say the least) we could have as much as 14" in the next few days. My dad always said if the weatherman says there is a 50% chance of rain then there is a 50% chance it won't rain. I always try to think that way if they say 14" we might get 5. But we'd love to host you in Kansas White Beard just so you could check us out......we don't meet much on your happy weather criteria.
