Does anyone know if these procedured are done in Ontario?

i am doing some searching to see if these stimulators are done in Ont. or the radiofrequecy nerve ablation or admission to hospital to do the IV administration of meds to stop the pain cycle.

i am just not moving forward with these terrible headaches. the meds don't work, the therapies don't work and the dr. are at a loss with my case.

Any input would be appreciated.

I give you an answer since I'm in the USA, but you might think about talking with your doctor(s) and/or calling a pain management specialist or neurosurgeon in your area to ask about the procedures. Good luck! I know your situation all too well.

Suzanne..i had heard i am fairly certain that this procedure is done at University Hospital..London,Ontario..now that was some time ago so not sure about now i think it might be worty kloooking into though..lyn

Hang in there Suzane! You're on the right track to keep on searching! We love you, and sincerely hope you find some relief soon. Deborah and I absolutely have enjoyed your friendship too! I know you're having a real tough time of it there, and I feel so bad for you. You know how to get a hold of me, and I will always be there for you, and I know that Cathy will be too. We are headed to Privey's for dinner Sunday, and I wish you lived closer, so that we could all have a little pain party! :) We will make sure to make a toast with you in our memory's. Have a wonderful day, and we will CHAT with you soon. Tonight several of us are headed to see the Sherlock Holmes movie, and I look forward to getting out of this bed, that I have been hugging since I have been off work. Monday, I will be back to the same old daily grind. Again, take care!

Thank you everyone. So would I ask my GP to look into London for me to see who i should see and get a referral? Not sure how this process works? Thank you my dear friends for caring about me. I'm sad to miss the dinner on Sund. One of my gifts at Xmas was a pair of tickets to see Ottawa Senators vs. The Phillies. Should be fun.

turn I do have a pain specialist and he says he has nothing else that can help. That's why I need to see if the radiofreqency is done here(although I have not read anything good about this), or if they do the stimulator insertions or admission to hosp. to do IV administration of meds to break the pain cyle. Does your PM know anything about stimulators of RF for headaches? He'd probably be the first person I'd ask, followed by your GP. Do you see a neurologist? If you do, you might think of asking them too. It was my neurologist that sent me to the neurosurgeon for an evaluation for the stimulator.

Have you heard of or been to the Michigan Headache & Neurological Institute (mhni.com)? I know that this is in the USA, but you might try calling them up & asking to speak with a doctor or someone who might know about such treatments in Canada, as they might just have such information. Early on, when my neurologist was suspicious of migraines & I didn't respond to meds, she seriously thought about sending me there for more testing or a brief hospitalization, so I ended up doing some research on the place. MHNI is supposed to be an excellent hospital for head and facial pain.

in your last post in reply to mine, you said you had to go to Longueil, Quebec,  on the 20th. I live in Lasalle which is right next to that city. Do you have any relatives in the area or is it for medical purposes?

We have an appt with a dr/orthodontist who has been looking after me in regards to these headaches. We stay overnight at my mom's in Hawkesbury then drive to the appt the next morning. We've been going since Apr. so we're not getting lost. We also have a garmin. I may be getting braces this time or it still may be a bit of time before we do that.

Well you're the closest to me that I've met on Healing Well. I'll have to look for your story again.
