Help me get through the week

I got a call from the PM docs office and they were able to get me in next Tuesday. That means I only have to go another week in this pain. Now I just need to figure out how I am going to do that without going crazy! Heat is losing its effect and my meds do not work very well or for very long. 

Its going to be a long 7 days but hopefully when I get there my doc and I can find a better plan for keeping this nagging pain at bay or at least down to tolorable levels!

I'm sorry that you have to wait so long in that kind of pain. If it makes you feel any better, I have no meds to help with mine and can't get in to see the PM doc until Feb 5th. It's a waiting game, and the doctors don't seem to understand that even going one day with this pain is unbearable, let alone a week, month, whatever!

You know it amazes me that these Doctors know that their patients are in severe pain and then refer their patients to a Pain Specialist, but don't give them adquate pain control coverage to last until the patient finally gets in to see the Pain Doctor! I honestly feel for you both, and I do understand your frustration! I only wish that these Doctors would get a giant dose of compassion before they enter into the field of medicine! Having worked on an Oncology unit in a Hospital I know what pain, patients can have, there is absolutely no excuse, for a Doctor not to adequately treat a patients pain! Having Chronic Pain myself I know what it is like to suffer from it and not have Doctors take you seriously and treat you! All I can say is I empathize with both YOU, I do wish you both all the best and I hope and pray that you both get pain relief soon!

I can only agree with White Beard it is terrible they won't consider doing something for you to make it through the week or month. My hope is for both of you to get something from your PCP to last you until you PM appointments. If he's prescribed it before what's the difference a week or month make?

Sarrah, I don't have much to add but I will encourage you to take it one day at a time, well maybe one hour or minute at a time. Sometimes a week is longer than we can comprehend. Blessings!

(((((((((Sarah)))))))))). You're going to make it! Don't give up now! Focus on that date, the so-called "light at the end of the tunnel." Just take things one day at a time, one hour at a time. It may feel like forever, but each day, each hour brings you one step closer.

I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers! I pray that your pain lessens and that you have the strength and drive to make it through the week.

     I am so glad to hear you were able to be worked in a little sooner. Though oh my goodness a week seems like such a long time to be in so much pain. I hope you are able to relieve it atleast to a somewhat tolerable level  until your appointment time. Stay stong

awww rose, I do not like to hear that my friend is in pain! I'm praying for you hun. It's horrible that our doctors are not more sensitive to the CP that we feel throughout our bodies each day. Ah well, guess we all ask for too much.

Anyway, I hope that your pain goes down and that you have a tolerable week.

Hi Rose!

Wish I could be with you and hang on to you...it won't make the pain go away but just being with someone who understand might make it easier. If it were me I would highly consider going to the ER to make it through. Take any of your records with you, old prescriptions, etc...so they see you're not just a drug seeker. It is shameful that you are having to suffer. Please keep in touch, email if you want..whatever it takes to get you through this ordeal.

I hope you're making it through the week. My pain doc dropped my insurance last year and I've waited several months to get back in with him. I thought about a new doc but my family doc is great and supportive. Monday I get my first injections, injections at a part of my neck that has, until recently, been okay but is now giving me monster headaches.
Without adequate pain meds, I wouldn't make it. I am an absolute monster when tired from sleep deprivation and exhausted from pain.

Yikes, today has been a rough one. I woke up early hoping this would be a mild day so I could make it on a business trip I had to go on (two hour drive) and I thought I was going to make it so I got ready, warmed up the car and left...well when I hit my normal coffee spot I realized that there was no way I was going to make it down to the meeting so I had to turn around, go home and crawl back into my fuzzy pants and wait for the worst of it to pass so I could work.

Lets all hope tomorrow and the weekend is better. I would like to get a few loads of laundry done and get to the grocery store.

Only 3.5 more days till i see my doc. I have printed out my pain journal and made a "note sheet" listing my meds, my issues and what I want out of the appt for him (I do this every time so I can keep track of what my appts were about and to make sure I do not forget anything. I am really hoping that what ever I try next helps me get at least some of my life back. I am just worried he is going to pressure me to have surgery to clear the adhesions but I cannot do that without getting my remaining ovary removed and that will mean menopause at 27 and as weird as it sounds I would rather be in pain the dealing with the hell that is menopause and all the issues that come with it 30 years sooner then I should (Cannot take HRT due to family history of breast cancer plus severe endometriosis cry )

Sarrah, I do hope that there is another avenue besides surgery. My wife and I make a great set of book ends. Me with my issues and her going through that wonderful change (but not at 27). I have bought her books, made her go to the doctor and make sure what her mood is before saying much. At least we find a way to laugh about it at times and we are good at supporting each other. Some morning we look at each other and try and figure out who kept who awake.
