Needing prayers and your thoughts for tomorrow!

I am starting my five day at home IV treatment of ketamine in hopes of breaking the pain cycle of my headaches. i am nervous about how this med will make me feel and also a small window of "what is this doesn't work". I want to stay as positive as possible. It is the last effort for my pain so that is why i am having some anxiety. Thanks to Michael this morning who game me some support.

So i am praying with all that is in me and hope that you can join me. I need this to work!!!

We're all here behind you, cheering you on, supporting you. I hope you can feel it! I don't know much about these infusions except what I read on your other thread, so I do hope you have a nurse or someone you can call if needed.

I will send healing energy your way! I do know one thing; if you allow your body and mind to relax as much as possible, you'll do better. Whether or not the infusions will help, I don't know, but the anxiety can be helped. If you worry about whether or not it's going to work that's not going to help it work or make it not work. It's just going to make you more miserable. So if you have some relaxing music, guided imagery tapes or something along those lines you can listen to, try using them.

Nature sounds are also great. You can get some of these CD's pretty cheaply at dollar stores so if you don't have any maybe someone can get a couple for you.

Also laughter is great, so rent your favorite DVD's or watch your favorite TV or whatever. And of course, come here for all our support anytime!

I will say an extra prayer for you that this treatment is successful! As PALady suggested try and relax during the infusions and think positive!

You are in our prayers. Remember this is no your last chance. I have learned there is always something new around the corner. Maybe not tomorrow, but next week or next month a new medication will become available. For me...the pain pump was my saving grace. I hope this works...but it is never your last chance for pain relief. Keep us posted regarding your progress.

Hello Suzane! This morning was a little rough, I could tell it from your text. I hope things have settled down for you this evening. We all are excited about your treatment tomorrow, and so dearly hope that it will finally give you some relief. It is hard to bare the thought of a friend going through so much pain as you have. I could clearly feel the stress and pain in your words. The members here are a great support group, and they are rooting for you as well. Of course, you know how to get a hold of me, so feel free to do so any time you need help. I wish Deborah and I could be there when your getting it done, but as you know we live several miles apart. Now, there will be a nurse there all the time right? Or will she just hook it up and check in on you? Let us know as soon as you know something. I'm a guessing Hubby will be there tomorrow too? If you can, put your mind to your favorite camping spot, at the perfect time of year, and search for the smells of the air. Pretend we all are there with you around the camp fire, making smores, and stoking the fire. You get my drift....put your mind into a wonderful place and meditate on something pleasant. I will check in on you first thing in the morning, so sleep tight tonight.

Thank you my dear friends, this means a lot to me, you have no idea. Having Michael readily available has helped me immensely in the last weeks. Llike this am i really needed him when i started to freak out a bit. PaLady you made some excellent points. You are such a wise woman!!! So the nurse is coming at ten am eastern time and she will come in the afternoon the see how i am doing. My husband is home wed. and thurs. and my mom will come on thurs. My GP knows i am having this and she will check up on me as well. The dr. that is helping me who is from my hospital has been calling me and I know he will check up on me as well during the infusion. He has been a Godsend. My priest came today and that helped. He brought me communion. He is very nice and will be saying my name at mass. Everything is set. I will do this and I will win this fight!!!!!!!

Will be praying for everything to go safely and that this can help move your pain down the scale..

Please don't hesitate to go to the ER if there is any sign of trouble as I am very nervous for you doing this in a home setting.

I know that I am new to this site, and you don't know me, but hope that you have not signed any paperwork that negates or limits any liability for this Dr. to perform this in a non-medical atmosphere. In a hospital or medical facility, there are certain safeguards in place to protect a patient if something goes wrong as well as in this is normally not legal in the US for a liscensed Dr. unless specified for hospice conditions. (which is not your case)

I truly am not trying to be negative and I'm sure you have thought of all of this and pray that this goes 100% perfectly tomorrow, so please don't misunderstand my post. I am just wanting to look out for your best interest and safety if any type of problem arises, and that you would have legal recourse if something went wrong.

Again, I truly hope this procedure/medicine helps you!!!

I've been out most of the afternoon but Michael caught me up this morning so I've been saying prayers and sending positive thoughts your direction all day. I hope that you get relief and will be going to Wed morning Mass tomorrow with my good friend to offer for you. I hope your priest can come give you Communion at other times this week. Do you have lay ministers? Take care my friend you are definitely in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Suzane, I sincerely hope the ketamin works and stops those headaches. I'm prone to headaches on different meds, its such a nasty side effect. I drink mountains of water which seems to help me so don't forget to keep up your fluids especially when you're cold, it makes it harder to drink water.

Thank you my friends!! I need you all on my side and thinking of me and I know this will work well.

My gosh thanks Cathy for going to mass and having it said for me. My priest came today and we said some prayers and talked about things i can do when i get anxious. He gave me communion and confession and blessed me with the oils of Saint Joseph. They will send someone every week so i get communion as I am too sick to be able to go to church and have really missed.
And Michael save me this morning.

Hugs to all of you. I think of my CP friends so often. I think we are also very special people.

Hope you got a good nights sleep last night!! I'll be thinking about you today and hope all goes well. Get your most comfy clothes, blanket, pillow and anything else that makes you feel relaxed and just take it easy today.

Hello all! I spoke with Suzane this morning, and they have already started the process on her, and she said the put the needle in the stomach area for the test. She also said that the change if any would be very subtle, so it will probable take some time before it takes affect on her. I will talk to her tonight, and maybe she will post something for us here. Hang in there Suzane! Were all thinking about you! :)
