Dear Screaming Eagle and Mrs. Eagle,
I hope that by the time you get this that your situation has much improved! Lots of prayers said for the both of you. When I had my first cervical fusion with disc insertion I was fortunate to have immediate relief of pain and required no pain meds post op. I wonder if we had the same procedrues done? Anyway, much love to both of you and keep us posted.

Take is slow and easy there, you two. One problem for those of us on 24/7 pain is what Michael is experiencing right now. We need so much more pain medication to handle the pain that the high doses cause other problems. But...it's what we have to deal with unfortunately.

Michael and Mrs.... we're all thinking warm thoughts and hope each day gets better and better. Prayers for speedy healing and an easy recovery.

Dear Michael,

I wish I was closer to help you my dear friend. I know you are hurting so bad. I pray that you can hang in there cause I know that as the days go by the pain will be lessened. I want so much to be there to  help you and hold your hand that it breaks my heart pray. I know that Debbie is keeping a close watch over you. YOu are blessed my sweet friend. Keep the faith!!! Your pain will be better very soon!! I love you.. .

Still want you to know that you are in our families prayers. It's hard when the pain med's take your breathing rate down...they will do that sometimes:( I had that happen too a bit.  I hope that by the time you read this your able to get some good needed rest! Take care friend!

Thank you so much for all the care and concern. It means so much to him. He has had a much better day today. Yesterday he was able to sit up and stand for a bit. Today he walked about 30 steps the first time and 45 the 2nd! They have his meds finally under control. Yesterday was pretty much loopy land all day. You should hear the funny stories ha came up with! I think we will be here at the hospital a couple more days, then to rehab. Such a relief to see some improvement finally.
He has tried several times to type on the laptop and just can't quite get it done. (Refuses to let me type it for him) He misses all of you and talks about some of you in his sleep.

Oh sweet, sweet Lord!! Thank you for the update Debbie!! I am glad my friend has had a better day!!! Now he will be able to start joking with the nurses!!! I will try to call on Tuesday!!!

Thanks again for the update, Mrs. Eagle! I'm glad to hear that Michael's recovery is proceeding nicely. You're both in my thoughts and prayers. This can't be easy on you either!

I am so glad that Michael is feeling a little better, and I am sure you are so relieved yourself. It is so hard to watch someone we love suffer like that.

The more he is up and walking around the better he will feel and the faster his recovery will be - within reason, he shouldn't overdue it!

Please tell him that he remains in my thoughts and prayers.

Mrs. E> Glad to hear Mikey is feeling better! Yep, those first couple days were crazy pain for me too after my fusion. He should improve big time in the next week or so. Tell him to hang tough and we will be waiting for him when he gets back! No need to rush the forum thing.
Is he ready for some Big Sweaty Manhugs yet?

Glad to hear that Michael is up and moving. I remember the pain after my fusion but it does get better with time but walking is so important. Take it easy Screaming and listen to the doctors.

Sorry if I'm not writing in the right place but it has been a rough few days for me here. I will tell more as I begin to feel better. Right now I'm struggling bad here. Take care and see you all soon.

Michael,
I'm sorry to hear it's not going so well for you. I would just encourage you to not let them discharge you until you're feeling better able to handle things at home.

Keep hanging on my friend! We're here waiting for you to get better and return to the forum. Rest, rest and more rest even though you are sick and tired of it but that's the only way your body can heal.

Hey SE...

I've been offline for a bit with a friend visiting for a week and a half...but wanted to pop on to say I hope you are feeling better each day...

Those first few weeks are rough after surgery...so just keep on resting...taking your meds..drinking lots of water...very light stretching...

*(especially moving your calf muscles and ankles/feet to prevent blood clots)...this is crucial for those after surgery and being bed ridden for some time...

Hopefully you have some good stuff on tv/movies to keep you occupied..as well as your wonderful wife to help take care of you..

I just now saw all of these post. I'm not one to cry all the time, but after reading a few of them, the tears started. I can not begin to Thank you all enough for your support to me and my wife. We appreciate it from the bottom or our hearts. I do not remember making some of the post, and was shocked to see that I posted something on the day of my surgery. I can tell you that it was quite the experience. Pete, buddy, you make me laugh, and you are pretty gifted in your writings, so keep it up for all of us please. I'm so very glad that I found this site several months ago. I'm still not up to par, so forgive me if I have missed something or someone here. Right now, I'm doing fine, and able to get around fairly well. I cant wait to get back up and running to encourage those here that need it.
