Hi, nini53 here, I have been taking extended release morphine 60mg 4xday, it was 3xday, I had been at 3xday for about
5 years and they worked great, but being that I had been on that dose for so long I asked my pm doc to increase it to 4xday, she did and now again all is well. I also take percocet 10mg as needed for bt pain.
This regimen has worked well for me and I have not had any problems with the extended release morphine, before I was given the morphine I had been taking methadone 10mg 4xday, and although they were working great, the stigma behind methadone made my then doctor stop the methadone and go on the morphine. At the time this change was made, I was very angry with that doctor, but having been off the methadone for such a long time now, and as the morphine is working great, I no longer see that pm doctor(and I use the term "doctor" loosley) as he and his wife partner were more interested in cash then treatment. I now have a wonderful pm doctor, and stayed with the morphine as it was working well.
Take care and good luck to you,
Kathy
