anxiety about my procedure on wednesday.

I am having 2 cervical edipural injections tomorrow. I am really nervous even though I have already had 3 last year. I dont know what it is making me feel so anxious. I know they will have trouble hitting a vein for the sedation. that stinks. I have other issues in my life I am worried about so maybe this is why I am so aggitated.I will have to call my pm clinic to see if I can take ativan before my procedure.

I would just ask for some prayers, hugs and good vibes sent my way if you had a moment.

Dear Merrygirl, You certaining have my prayers. I am so sorry that you have to go thru rhis agonizing proceedure to get relief. So on Wednesday, you will be in my thoughts and prayers. I say an extra one for enlarged veins (LOL) - I am not sure how specific God wants us to be, but for you we will cross all of the t's and dot all of our i's. Please keep us posted.

Dear Melissa , All prayers and positive vibrations and good thoughts are being sent your way , try to take a couple of deep breathes and take in all the positive energy we your friends are sending ! Spiritual hugs aplenty and please keep yourself positve as possible and we will keep positive thoughts constantly going .You go girl !!

Melissa...

I will keep you in my prayers re: your epidurals tomorrow... I hope today passes quickly for you so you can get on to your procedure. I know my anxiety comes from just "waiting" and thinking about things...

Anyway, I'll pray that your veins cooperate :) and that the procedure goes smoothly.

Take care of yourself.. and let us know how tomorrow goes.

Will be thinking of you and hope that these injections will help, try to keep positive on that (for now)
Lots of soft healing hugz coming your ways, oh how I hate those IV line's they can't find my veins either..
and they won't numb me anymore so it hurts a lot when they don't numb your hand, sure wish they had a easier way
of doing those, maybe you'll get lucky to get sticked only once (my fingers crossed for you on that)

Many, many prayers and well wishes for your procedure!!!

Please don't feel bad about the apprehension. I have to have a little something to relax me every time they do that type of injection. I'm sure they will take great care of you. You are not alone!

I think the anticipation of the procedure combined with my situational stress is not good combo right now. there is only so much a person can take right at once. ugh!

Merry, I am thinking of you and hope the procedure will go well.. I see the surgeon for a consult tommorrow. I understand how you are feeling. I am anxious and nervous. I am sorry you are not seeing this til now . I have been dealing with family issues. Take care and hope it goes well today. Hugs.

I hope it goes well for you today! Your in my prayers! Please keep us informed on how it went for you and if they have worked. I had my second injection done last week and he used a tube cath, and threaded it futher up so he could get the steroid up more where the problem is, at C2, it has worked better than the first one that I had three weeks ago! But so far it is not super great. I do hope you have much better luck! Do they sedate you for your injections? All I have ever had is lidocaine at the injection site! They do offer Xanax for anxiety if you want it, but I don't ever take!

hey guys.

All is well. the procedure was fine. I was nervous till the end though. They use IV sedation, I think fentanyl and versed. but not sure about that. I was on the table and was still anxious. they gave me extra meds supposedly. I did feel pain free when
I got up and off the table. too bad I couldnt be that pain free every day. I slept most of the day and and now am very sore and stiff. thanks for the well wishes and support. I appreciate it.

Merrygirl, glad to hear your procedure went well. Did the doctor instruct you to ice the injection site? This normally helps me with the injection site pain. Try to take it easy for a couple of days. How are your pain levels today? Hope you get some relief from the injections!!!!

Merrygirl (Melissa) I was happy to read your recent post. I am glad your procedure was pain free. You were probably stiff from laying on the table during the procedure. Now is the time to take good care of yourself. Sleeping is OK, your body needed the reat. Pamper yourelf and try and not over do it. How long before you know if the injections were successful? Thanks for keeping us posted. We care..

Hi Stella Marie,

I think I am supposed to know in a week if they are going to help. The doctor said that I may need the whole set of 3 but I am hoping one will do it since I had 3 last year. I am still very sore and stiff. ITs a terrible feeling but trying to be brave lol.

     Good morning *hugg* I am sorry you are stiff and tender today. I have tenderness and stiffness for 4 days after my series is done and usually have results in about 5 days. I really hope that is the case with you! I wont chatt away endlessly, but stella is right! Try to relax and take it easy the best you can. I know you have a busy household and many people to care for, but try to remember yourself! Stay strong and know you are in our hearts here!
