High SED rate with fibro?

Hi all,

I don't know if any of you remember, but last week I started getting these hard lumps on my shin bones. Since then they have spread to the sides and back of my calves. I am also having alot of swelling (in my joints and other areas too). My pain has also increased and spread to other areas I usually don't have pain. Like my lower back for example. Actually, pretty much everything hurts right now. So, I went to the doctor's yesterday and they did a SED rate. I just got a call from them and it is high, it's 42.

They want me to come back today to draw more blood to check for RA, lupus and a few other things that I can't remember. I was tested for all of these things several months back and they came out normal. Of course my SED rate was normal then too. My sis (Antbuggey) was just diagnosed with RA this week, so needless to say, I'm kinda freaking out a little. Anyone know if fibro can cause a high SED rate? I tried looking it up, but I couldn't find anything so I'm guessing not. But I thought I would check with you all just in case. I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe 4th! Take care.     Of course, I am glad to hear from you. *hugg* but the SED rate had to be a shocker! I have friends with fibro and I have never heard mention of SED rate. I know right now you are probably worried, but I want you to know that this could be a good thing. What I mean is, you have had a big jump in your overall pain, and these tests might help explain why. I know you are probably stressed out but please stay strong! This could be good, it could help explain so much. Try really hard to keep your mind occupied so you are not a bundle of nerves. *warm hugg* You will get through this too, I know you will!
