My PM doctor prescibed this to me on Friday. It is a new medicine that came out in March of this year AND a Schedule II. My regular chain pharmacy did not have it and did not have a PIS (the only pharmacists who can call and order it) in. I had her call two other locations to see if they had the medicine and a PIS working. Same thing. Didn't have it and no PIS. I feel like I've been given the 'run-around' needless to say.

I thought there was always a PHARMASIST on staff to consult with for customer convience?? Yeah right. confused

Frustrated beyond belief, I went to a non-chain pharmacy in my neighborhood and the Pharmacist was very nice and empathetic. She said she would try her best to call it in and get it by tomorrow.

Anyone else taking Nucynta? Did you have problems getting it? This is my first time having difficulty getting a medicine. I guess Hydrocodone is nothing compared to a Schedule II. Now I know how hurt and demoralized people feel when they are legitimately trying to get their meds and it is a constant battle with the pharmacies.

Hello....I am so sorry to hear that you are having problems getting your meds! That is so frustrating! I am not familiar with that medicine, however, I had a similar problem with another one and because of the problem you are having now....getting it in the first place... I just wanted to let you know about the problem I had. My PM doc switched me from vicodin to levorphanol and I had amazing results with it! It was a rather new and unknown narcotic. It did not have any of the tylenol or ibuprofen in it....just the narcotic. This is so much better for you if you are on these meds long term! It is the other stuff that hurts you! So I was taking it and doing better then I had in 3 years....when all of a sudden I try to get my refill and my pharmacist could not get it. I live in a small town and started calling around and I found 3 pills within 100 miles, which did me no good because that was a days supply for me! I then went through terrible withdrawals and finally ended up on MS-contin, which helps but nothing like levorphanol did! That was in February and as of 2 weeks ago....the levorphanol is still back-ordered! I do not know if I would ever trust going back on it but my pharmacist keeps checking on it! It just worked so well!!

Anyway....hoping this is just an original problem and you do not run into anything like I did! Do you know who manufacturers it? Just kind of wondering....since it came out in March and Levorphanol ran out at the end of February....maybe it is something made in place of levorphanol. Just a thought!

Hey antbuggey,

I went to the Nucynta's website and they had a "find it pharmacy" zip code help. After doing some calling around to the pharmacies, I finally was able to get the prescription in 20 minutes at a popular chain! Guess I will be using this other chain (can we say the pharmacy names on here?) instead of the other one that was less than accommodating!

I have never heard of Levorphanol. That is GREAT that you are finding relief and I hope you can find it again.

I see that you have ovary cysts. I have PCOS. It doesn't give me any pain, but made me totally infertile for years and went undiagnosed. Have you had any surgeries done on your ovaries?

So sorry for what you are going through. Nucynta is a sister drug of Ultram. Unfortunately, so many people thought that Ultram couldn't be abused & couldn't cause any real problems that the drug did end up resulting in illegal activity, overdoses & death in some cases (mostly from mixing with antidepressants or migraine meds. So now they went 180 degrees the other direction & classified Nucynta as a Schedule II. Still, it shouldn't be impossible to get. It's been around for a while & people have posted about it here in the past. Keep calling around, someone should be able to get it for you.

Hello again....I am happy you found your meds and hoping you have rally good luck with them! I looked into it too after my post and found out about them a little! That is what I do research and aver-analyze! LOL

No I have not had any surgeries regarding my cysts....because of all the other crud I have going on right now...my doctor has a "let's wait and see what happens" attitude with that problem! Which is pretty frustrating because I do get quite a bit of pain, but it is pretty much just monthly.....but I do have quite a bit on my plate right now! But thanks for asking! This may have been the reason I had trouble getting pregnant with my current hubby....besides being pretty late in life!! I guess everything happens for a reason...I just wish my husband had the chance to experience all of that! He would be excellent in the daddy department and his mom would be an excellent grandma, also! Did surgery help you?

Anyway....take care of you and I hope all works out with the new meds!

When I was rx'd it the pharm had to special order it.

I personally hated the stuff. It made me higher then a kite and I HATE that feeling. It also did nothing for most of my pain BUT I also know people who it worked wonders on so I really hope you are one of them!

I too have massive ovary issues and stuggle every day with adhesions and from constant hemmoragic cysts that can make life a nightmare.
