My sister

My sister who has EDS and certainly enough problems, called me on the weekend. She is experiencing symptoms similar to those I had when I had hyperthyroidism which eventually changed to hypothyroidism. my doc said I'd probably had an inflamation in the thyroid which can cause that. The did ultrasound on her which didn't show anything, but her doctor refuses to test her blood to see whether that will show anything. She is going to see a different doctor tomorrow.
I'm worried for her. She's 1 1/2 years younger than me and we're a lot closer now than we used to be, maybe because we both have loads of health problems and I don't want her hyperthyroidism to get as bad as mine did two years ago. At some point I was exercising for 10 hours a day because I just needed to move, dancing, running, walking back and forth in my room for hours. I got two stress fractures from that. I don't want her to go through all that and I'm really worried for her.The EDS is giving her enough trouble as it is, she doesn't need any more than that.

Sorry to hear that Athas , my sister is in good health but my brother had a double hip replacement 3 years back and seeing the pain he was in was very tough indeed . Its great you've become closer with your sister , thats worth everything . I hope she feels better and that you two continue to get closer . Best of luck !! Mikel
