Im freezing and hurting and dont like it one bit

It has been quiet a day here.  Its now blowing high winds and 10 degrees with the wind chill.  I have to go out in it tomorrow too to get prescriptions for my Mom and thanksgiving stuff.  We are having the holiday dinner over at the senior clubhouse at my Moms with my Mom and my daughter and heaand my grandkids.  I am so happy that they will all be there.  Hopefully it goes better then last year with me fighting with my daughter all day.  Jay and I are waitng for the cable to be turned off and the phone and internet will come next.  We still havent turned on the heat even with it being in the low teens most of the day.  It is so cold in our house and I am waiting to see if we can get some help with the light bill.  Jay still hasnt found a job but we are getting along pretty well and Jay is helping me stay warm and comfortable,well as comfortable as a person can get with no heat.  I hurt so bad and I dread going out as the sidewalks are all slippery.  I keep counting down the days till it is summer again sighhhhhh just such a long cold winter.  I hope all of you are staying warm and safe and I wish you low pain days.  Karen<!-- Edit -->

Hey Karen , Sorry your having such a tough time of it there , and being cold to boot is no fun . So please be careful on those slippery sidewalks , take your time walking . I hope Thanksgiving takes your mind off these things and you can enjoy yourself ! Mikel

Karen, I feel for you. It's not nearly that cold where I live but it still is causing me a horrendous amount of pain.
Besides LIHEAP, you can contact your electric provider to see if they have an assistance program (I know ComEd does; you have to fall behind for a couple of months, but then they forgive whatever your bill is if you qualify & most people do). Also, Salvation Army, Red Cross, United Way & some religious organizations help people out with utilities, especially in winter. You might try calling around. I know I'm going to probably have to do that soon myself. The prices just keep going up & up. :(

Thanks so much for the good wishes=) I will call the places that you have given me tomorrow. I need to kick myself in the pants and thank my luckey stars for all of you and my family too. Tonight I thought of how many ppl there are that dont have a roof over thier head and dont even have a warm blanket. I'm sure more than one of them wont survive the night. IN Seattle the missions are handing out blankets to the ppl who were not lucky enough to get to stay inside tonight. There are so many that are out of work and so many that have no place to stay. Last night a bunch of ppl got stranded on the highway and had to walk with children to a safe place. My neighbor was talking about her friend that got stranded and ended up going with a strangers family for the night. I dont even know what would come to someone that didnt even take a coat expecting to be in a warm car. If you could take a minute to say a prayer for all that are cold or hungry tonight, I would appreciate it.
