I found out yesterday that my disability was approved!!!!! The judge signed the order yesterday ----- one of the best days of my life!  Talk about a HUGE weight off my shoulders!  For all of you trying to get approved, I discovered that if you send in financial information, and proof that you are unable to afford your Rx, it will move your case to a critical status, and that gives social security shorter time frames to work with....Just had to share that after 2 years, I am legally "disabled"!!! (even tho I have been for a long time, in real life!!!!)  lol yeah

I always feel a measure of disgust with our country when I read these threads. It should be a matter of course, a normal turn of events, that someone who is disabled is approved for benefits. Not, a huge relief and celebration. If we have money to give to other countries we should have money to take care of our own.

I so agree sjkly....to top it off part of it comes from money WE paid in while we were able to work! I filed in October of 2009...did all of it myself, and finally broke down and got an attorney for the hearing part. Of course he informed me that I had one of the worst judges we have around here-that made me feel alot better. I guess she still has cases that she has heard over a year ago that she still hasn't rendered a decission on. The only thing that made a difference was mine was flagged critical for financial reasons. All I know is if I was physically able,
i would have jumped up and down and did backflips, but if I did that i would end up in the hospital!!!! lol


Thanks for all the congratulations----finally things may turn around for us!

I'm so happy for you F.R.C.!!!!! Great news when ever one of our Healing Well C/P Family finally gets aprover for SSD!!!
I filed in June of 2009 and they are telling me it's gonna be at least 18 more months!!! I would state that I can't afford my meds but at this point it would be a lie! We can aford them bearly cause my wife works her butt off and we have insurance through her employer!
I was totally screwed by my TV lawyer>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (shyster/worthless/shamefull/peice of crap) !!!!!!!! But thats another story! I am truely happy for you my Brother!!! Like others said, I wish the good old USA would take care of their own> especially someone who paid into SS from 14~56 years old!!! It just ain'rt right!

I live in Oklahoma.....would love to come to Fl. was there once back when my husband drove a truck....just happened to be the weekend of the daytona 500 and we couldn't find anywhere to stay!!!

That is wonderful news...sounds kinda odd to say congrats on being disabled doesn't it? HA HA...Anyway, I just applied on December 22,2010....I am a nervous wreck about the waiting...I know that my journey has just begun, and it will be along road...but I am hopeful.. I haven't worked since 2001...and I have NO INCOME at all!!! I live with my mom and 17 yr. old son...I get TennCare and Foodstamps but no financial help... What are my odds? I have Diabetes as well as Spinal Stenosis, DDD, DJD, and who knows what else?

Wish me luck...you have given me HOPE!!

Congratulations! From what I have heard, I understand that this process can be quite lengthy and difficult. I've never understood what you are supposed to do financially during the years while you are appealing the initial decision. If I end up in this situation, especially if it's anytime soon, I'm sure they'll try to deny me because of my age (30). But anyway, I'm happy to hear that you have finally received a positive resolution to this arduous process!
