To her job as a float CNA (it lets her do her school work and get paid for it, yay!) just carrying her bookload, it couldn't have been much more than 10-14 lbs, I felt nauseas, got a headache, and burning/walls closing sensations all from holdif the books for something like 5 minutes. It makes me wonder how I would ever go back to school after this and lug books around a campus. How am I supposed to go through an 8 hour day at school or even 4 hours if I just take longer get the degree and give myself less time in class?

I don't know your particular field, but I was able to complete my Masters in the online environment from a really good school after my fusion. I actually herniated my back in class because I was attending as a hybrid student (in class/online combination). I did have to go to a site to take the comprehensive exam (well......twice I will admit), but I did get the degree with a 4.0. I can't use it now, but it did feel good to finish what I started.

If you (or anyone else) is considering online education now, please check really closely on the school you plan to attend. There are many federal investigations going on and several schools are having to close because of illegal or unethical issues. I am still trying to get a particular online school to withdraw my husband after we enrolled him. He attended one week of courses and we had to withdraw because it turned out they lied about everything from costs, to class requirements, to credit transferability, and even the VA benefits he was receiving. It's been a nightmare to get him out, but I think I lack some small amount of money for NOTHING and then he will be let go. They didn't like it when the VA started checking on what they had done. After we insisted they notify the VA and provide verification, they refused to return contact at all on any issue.

I hope you will be able to find the right fit for your education. It sounds like you really want to go back and finish.

I'm going to go for radiology...I have a WC case and My lawyers are going to win basically whatever they go for...but I'm 25 even if I get 300k as a settlement i don't want to just do nothing for the next 25. So I'd like to be able to have a good account where I don't have to worry about money, but that I can do something to keep earning and staying somewhat productive. This is all hopeful. If I can't handle it i can't handle it and I just invest whatever I get then. My fiancee is 2 years from her RN then plans to be a nurse practitioner so either way we will be able to live comfortably.

Radiology is a tough field to get into from what I understand. Between top grades and they only accept so many students at a time it makes it even more difficult. My neighbors daughter was all set to go until she found out she didn't make the cut. She had the grades but it is such a limited field during the school process. Good luck to you.

Grades were never a problem, I've got a 143 iq. Being a radiologist is the same difficulty and schooling as being an RN basically. And that whole "cut off" you speak of also depends on location.

As far as the "lugging" books thing goes the obvious answer is don't. Get yourself a luggage or book cart and put your books/book bag, on that. Find one with large wheels to make it easier to pull through the snow, up stairs, etc.

Haha I know Jim. I have that part all planned out it's just that holding something that weighed about 12 lbs and just holding that for about 3 minutes carrying it had my head spinning and me near puking because of the disc/nerve pain. I can't sit in a straight backed chair for five minutes without the fire/nausea washing over me. I just don't know how I'm ever going to be able to sit through a 2 hour class or 3 hour lab.
