Hey PA LADY,
It's been quite a while since I've talked with you, but I'm so glad to be back online and in touch with all my dear friends here. I was wondering if you could give me a few details about what exactly you had done in the surgery with your knee.
I'm facing double knee replacements sometime in my future, including the cutting and shortening of the tendons to keep the new kneecaps in place. Both of my knees have been bad since I was a teenager, when the DRs first wanted to do the replacements, but back then, they could only do one at a time, with an 18 month rehab period. I didn't want to spend my last three years of High School rehabbing my knees, so I put off the surgeries indefinitely. Technology has since gotten a lot better, but the DRs are have now been telling me to keep putting off the replacements as long as I possibly can, since the artificial joints won't last more than about 15 year. They don't want me to have to do the replacements twice, but geez, I've been putting it off for 30 years at this point...how much longer do I have to suffer???
Anyway, I was just curious as to what kind of things they did to you and what your experience was like. I'm even more concerned cuz I'm pretty much "waited out" at this point, and it worries me to hear that you are having more pain now than before your procedure. I'll understand if you don't want to talk about it though.
Keeping you in my prayers,
Leigh Ann
