Just stopping by to let you know that I am thinking of you during your consultation. Hang in there and be strong. Let us know how U R making out in your treatments. I hope you find the much needed support that you seek.

Hi Dex, sorry to hear about your relapse. You have the right attitude though and that will get you far.

Thanks guys. For any nerdy/interested folks, I've started high dose ara-c, will continue that for the next few days and then switch over to intrathecal methotrexate.

So sorry that you had a stroke. Did it leave any lasting effects? You said it was a small stroke, so do you have weakness on one side? I sure hope not.

I have been thinking of you alot and wondering how you were holding up and now I know.

We are here for you and we are reserving your spot for you so when you feel strong enough please update your post.

          Oh my gosh Dex. I sure hate hearing this news but I am so happy to hear from you.

           How are you doing now my friend? If the stroke was small then I hope you had no deficits.

         How many weeks of this strong chemo do you need?

         I am praying for you Dex!! Hang in there and write us back when you can ok.

Hello. I know that you have the resolve and strength to overcome your stroke, but I'm very sorry that it happened. I hope to chat with you sometime soon and wish you the best. I'm really impressed with the eloquence and detail of the support offered by other members.

Thanks all! You guys are swell. As far as after affects I have some muscle weakness and speech issues but they're relatively minor considering worst case scenarios and they will continue to improve with time. I'm very lucky.

Well that's good news Dex. You sound so upbeat and strong!! I know you will prevail!!

Keep doing your best and get lots of rest. Is it Methotrexate this week? and then what's next?

I did some chemo with children in my earlier nursing days so i am familiar with some of your meds.

Is the hospital giving you speech therapy to help you enunciate more clearly? How are you feeling?

How are you doing hun? We havent heard from you for a few days so I thought I would pop in for a quick visit.

Do your relatives stop by to see you? I hope so. It is horrible to be in a hospital and not have any visitors.

Did anyone send you any flowers or a plant or magazines? I would come with 5 magazines for you to page thru if I was close to you. Sit down and talk to you for awhile.

Hi Dex

Glad to hear that you are home. Rest and try to regain your strength. As far as your speech you should read outloud and try to enunciate the words clearly. the more you do that the better your tongue will be trained.

im having my hardware in my leg removed on 6-6 -11 spend the night in hospital...after that one more operation to go
