SSD> I finally Won!!!

Well Hello Friends, Fams and new Peeps I duno yet! Yes indeedy, I had my SSD hearing yesterday in front of a Jumbo TV set in an Official SS office w/ my nogoodforcrap appointed lawyer (who didn't call me till the day before to go over what to expect!) sitting next to me w/ a file at least 6" thick! The Judge seemed like a nice guy as he chatted w/ my legal shyster dude about all the cases they had scheduled that day together!!

After the court recorder Lady opened and the Judge swore me in they exchanged some legal jargon I didn't really understand, we got underway.

Both the Judge and my Shysteroo asked me questions, mostly about how my health affected my everyday life at first to which I told them that I still do most things like gardening, housework and cooking but that I now had to stop quite frequently because of back, neck and hand pain mostly. They also asked about the different treatments I have tried over the years including> P- theropy, injections, drugs and surgery. I was pretty nervous to say the least w/ so much at stake and the fact that I was sworn in to tell the truth> the whole truth and nothing but the dadgum truth. I mean I couldn't lie about anything which I didn't! I didn't have to because after the Judge heard that I gave up a job I loved making a bunch of $$$ and that my boss didn't want me to leave, it was obvious to him that I had a legit claim and that I was in a lot of pain!!!

So after bringing up only about half of my health problems, the Judge said> "I've heard enough and Mr. Pete's trip's judgement is "Favorable!!!"  

I asked my shyster if that meant I won and he said> "Most definitely!!!"

Then the Judge said I would receive my letter and paperwork in 3~4 weeks. The shysterdude then reminded me of my fee agreement and that I should get my bank account # to their office so that they could dirrect deposit my $$$ instead of sending a check which would take much longer!

So thats kinda what happened, so if any of Y'all have some questions for me about it, please let me know! I know I haven't been around in some time but I just got back from a two week trip taking my Snowgoose Mom up north for the summer and have been crazy busy for the past couple months!!! Also my hands are dead! More than they ever were before and after writing letters to my boys practically daily who are both on deployment in the Navy my hands are pretty much shot!! I will be watching this thread though just incase I can help out a Fam member w/ their SSD Stress!!! I feel your pain and I know how much it sucks waiting!!!

Thanks sooooo much for all your chears & support!! Sorry I haven't answered quicker! R-T, yes I know about my tax obligations to Uncle Sam, my older brother warned me long ago. I'm just happy I finally won, just wish I never hired the worthless lawer I did! I'll tell the whole story on that someday but not today!
I have to go out and do chores before it gets too tot!

Thanks Mikey!!! Yea>Buddy, You ain't lyin about some of us deservin some help when you really can't work anymore after paying into SS for soooooooo many years! I couldn't believe the Judge, it was like "why are we evan here" This is crazy that you have so many things documented that are wrong w/ you and 5 dr's that say that you can't work anymore! HE DIDN'T EXACTLY SAY THIS BUT IT WAS SO EASY TO SEE WHAT HE WAS THINKING BY THE WAY HE TALKED AND ACTED! Woops, hit the cap locks! Anyway, thanks again Mikey, it means a lot hearing it from an old friend who has been w/ be through the whole battle!

Congradulations, Please remember along with SSD, or SSI comes Medicare.  Please get yourself a book from your locat SSS office and start reading, paying close attention to pharmacy benefits.  Good job, and Good luck

Hope you are having low pain, sometimes even if temporary the joy at getting what you deserve makes you feel better, even for a little while.

Hey!..."Welcome" to the Chronic Pain forum! I see that you have been spending time on the "Fibro" forum, and wanted to extend you an offer to join us here as well. As a "Disability" attorney, you would be most welcome here, as many of our members have questions about these types of issues.

If I sound kinda of selfish for our members, I am! This issue has been one of the most disheartening actions to go through for many of our members, so if you have any advice to offer, we certainly would appreciate it.

Also please forgive me in that I do realize you are here on the forums for a reason other than listed above...as you are suffering too! Our members offer you warm support, so feel free to visit us anytime!
I think you would be better served and warmly welcomed if you would please start a new topic and tell us a little about yourself. You will receive quite a bit more exposure this way, and we certainly want our members to meet you.

Many of our members suffer from "Fibro" and many other debilitating conditions, but the main thing is that we all suffer pain chronically in some shape of form. This forum, understands what suffering with chronic pain is all about, and the members have a deep understanding what it is like to live with it. I believe, with others, that this is one of the best forum's for chronic pain support, and we are thrilled you have found us, although we are sincerely sorry for the reason as to why.

Feel free to visit anytime, and ask all the questions you wish. While we are not Dr's, we can, and do freely share our personal experiences, and can often point a person in a better direction.
