Good Luck Betsey! Update! Good News!

            Good afternoon Family!                I'm thrilled to report good news on our "Betsey Ross"       While it is hard at times, to tell someone's demeanor with texting and emails, ... I had the privilege to speak with her by phone a few minuets ago, and much to my surprise, she was full of life, and had a giggle or two while she updated me on the her "Post-OP" surgery report.        The surgery took about an hour, and was started at 9am this morning. They removed the metal plates around the "Tiba" area, and said that the surgeon, noted that the tissue around the metal plates looked poor and they figure she was allergic to them. It seems like it was a good call to remove it! (they bagged them, and let her keep it for sentimental sake)       Betsey said she was a 9 on the pain scale when she went in this morning, and now,... is already at a 5, with the help of oral pain med's (Percocet & Dilaudid)...no pump is was needed after the surgery. No cathater was needed either. (always a plus)          I asked her how she thought her overall care was so far, and she had absolutely no complaints! (Another Plus)                  To tell you the truth, she really surprised me, with how well she sounded on the phone. She sounded,... what we called on the farm "Bright-Eyed & Bushy-Tailed" ........full of energy raring to go!..........full of giggles and laughter!          At the moment, ...the plan is to spend the evening at the hospital, to make sure all is well, and then she should be released sometime tomorrow. (maybe by noon) I really do expect her to post here tomorrow, if she keeps doing so well.            As far as a "caregiver" it looks like she will have one as soon as she gets home,  and they will be checking in on her all this week. So...that is good news,... as she had been plenty worried about it.             Betsey....says she appreciates all the prayers, and well wishes from her family of members here! I can tell you from personal experience, this is so welcomed, and appreciated by anyone who goes through a surgery. It's a wonderful surprise to see CP members post their "Well Wishes"....so post if you can please! It makes for some good reading as one recovers.         So with that!....I think we can "Congratulate" her on a successful surgery!...and pray that her recovery is a quick one! Long term hopes.... are that this will reduce, her overall pain, and she can live her life with a better quality than she has had so far.            I will update, as soon as I hear anymore, or if something changes.                Betsey...prayers for you!...and we hope you have a wonderful  and speedy recovery!     *´¨) ¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨) (¸.•´ (¸.•`      SE

Rest up now...and follow all the Dr.s orders...

I am glad your friend can pick up your medicine...in VA...they request our drivers license to pu any narcotics and actually sign for them at the pharmacy...and only with written instructions from the DR. can someone else pick them up in an emergency..

Try to just veg out and watch tv...movies...sleep when you can...and drink LOTS of water to say extra hydrated after surgery...as well as eating healthy and non 'binding' foods...since the Oxy will cause constipation...so will the lack of any type of walking until you are allowed....so eat lots of fiber and good stuff!...

Am praying this surgery helps your pain levels when you are healed!

My oxy was paid by W/C today at 4:40 and the pharmacist said that she would call me when it was paid and of course she didnt get around to it. So at 8:15 my hubby went out to pick it up and then he is going to walmart to pick up a battery for the car he takes to work.

I told my friend that i need to pay her by check so that i have a record of that transaction for the judge to see in July. My lawyer is going to take on W/C and take them to court so I get a stair chairlift and a caregiver.

I will keep updating everyone. Thanks from the bottom of my heart

Hi Betsey! I'm sorry that you're having so much post-op pain, but it's great that they gave you a new prescription. I hope and pray that it helps with the pain.

It's so sweet that your friend cares so much! I hope that you have a fast recovery from here on.

My Family

My friend just called me to tell me that she has tremendous pain in her head(brain tumor) and she cant drive and wont be coming over. So I am by myself and I cant do anything. I called my lawyer.

Told her that my caregiver is unable to help me today at the last minute and I cant do anything for myself. I am by myself. the lawyer called some agencies and all want payment up front and they wont work with W/C. So now lawyer is calling the agency on aging to ask the statis on my application. i dont remember the phone number, my head isnt screwed on straight at this moment and let the lawyer earn her money. I am not going to get in home help.

Maybe a church can help, Im just grasping at straws.
