I'm lucky that for the ten years I've had prescriptions for my chronic pain, I have never had any stolen, but yet I take them with me everywhere in my purse and I guard my purse like it's my life, I never have it out of my sight when out of the house, nd if I'm at a friends place, I take it with me to every room. I get people who make alot of comments about it, they think its odd, but I tell them that its a habbit. I never tell anyone about me getting scripts, I even have the pharmacy ask for an id before giving it to me, and only me or my father can pick them up. We have several pill addicts in my family, so I keep my distance. The other day my aunt (who's two step kids that she raised, are both severely addicted to pills) how a few years ago they stole her lock box and took it to the desert and broke it open, she was telling me that no matter how many times she tells people no, they still beg her, I told her to tell them that her doctor cut her off so she has no more. I think its very important who we tell and not tell this information to, and I think that's helped me never have any problems.
But I will admit that three years ago when I was on vacation, someone (and I have a pretty good idea who) broke into my apartment and went through all my pills because when I got back, my pill bottles where all over the floor, but luckily I had my pain meds all with me as nothing was taken, it was just old prescriptions that I never threw out like antiacids and antibiotics and lots of imitrex migraine samples. I was still very upset, but luckily the people I suspect have moved out of the state. Nothing is safe these days, its sad. And its even sadder that these people can't get any treatment in my area, I'm always advocating for treatment here as these people have a disease and nobody understands. So they can't find help,
