Surgery tomorrow...very nervous!

So, I am having surgery tomorrow. trigger finger release, carpal tunnel release and cubital tunnel release (ulnar nerve transposition). I am so nervous, actually straight up scared!

It's my right arm so I think that has me more worried because I am right handed. I can't deal with the pain anymore though so I guess it needs to be done.

I could use some good thoughts sent my way, it would be much appreciated. I am not sure when I can use my hand to type, but hopefully I won't be gone too long. I miss you guys when I stay away!

I understand how you feel. When I had that same procedure done it was on my dominant hand/arm also.

I was able to temper any anxiety I felt with the fact things had gotten to the point my hand was almost completely useless and I figured surgery couldn't make it any worse. By the time it was time to leave to go to the hospital the morning of the procedure I was actually chomping at the bit and couldn't wait to get it done and over with the hope that I would soon have at least partial use of my favorite hand again.

You'll be just fine Shannon. Best wishes for a very successful outcome and a speedy recovery.

Good luck Shannon! I'm sure you'll do just fine and that dadgum ulna nerve will stay where they put it!!!

I will be praying for a speedy recovery for you. A prayer for calm nerves and steady hands for your physician as well. Please take care of yourself and let us know asap as to how you are doing.

 Everyone worries about surgery ,infact Ijust found out today I'm having surgery on sept 26,and its a big surgery ,afew days in hospital! Ihave had carpel tunel surgery in both hands and it heals fast ,afriend had the surgery 2months ago and is back at work already. I want you to know that you will be okay and you will feel so much better once you heal,the surgery works so well,you will be happy with the results!Just make sure you don't eat after midnight and follow the dr's orders. Its normal to be scared ,but it will be over fast and you be home and able to post here to tell us you are fine.Try not to worry ,think about how nice it will be to not have that nasty pain ,do take care and post once your home,Ican't wait till your feeling better!Take care lots of luck from michele

Thank you all so much! I have spent today trying to get laundry done and some basic clean up stuff cuz I have no idea when I will be able to do anything with my arm.

Hey Jim... I'm just curious what your recovery time was? How long was your arm wrapped? I guess I will find out tomorrow but I was just wondering.

Hi Shannon We're all nervous about having surgery. I'm sure you'll be back to your pre-pain self in no time. I wish you good luck. I'm saying prayers for you along with thoughts of lower anxiety and steady hands for your surgeon.
