Started Having bad burning pain from the procedures yesterday before we got home, I really
think it's do to Lidocaine, the doctor started with desensitization and then did the prolotherapy
was very dizzy afterwards, and then the burning pain, Benadryl is helping and ice packs
if I'm off an ice pack for too long the burning pain hits me bad...
Only other time this happened was when I had a mole removed from my back, the procedure
went okay till that burning pain hit me...yet due to allergy test on lidocaine did not
result in an allergic reaction...how can this burning not be an allergic reaction...hurt
like been burnt in a fire and can't put it out...help

The procedure was a pretty bad experience the 5 mg of Valium didn't help
much to calm me and the doctor ran over an hour late, and the burning pain
after's was horrible. I think it was caused by the lidocaine, the doctor
decided to add a desensitization to the prolotherapy and he used
lidocaine or something with "caine" from what my husband told me
and I believe that caused the burning reaction, it started burning me 25 minutes
before I got home on Thursday, ice packs helped, and I finally took a
benadryl at 1:30 a.m. and that helped and I was able to get some rest.
Finally the burning went away on Saturday afternoon, with the ice packs
and Benadryl, My husband called the doctors office on Friday and told them
about my reaction and all they could say was that the benadryl might help...
I had a mole removed from my upper back over 10 years ago, as it
was big and odd shaped, the doctor then used some form of novocaine
and it burned my back really bad, to the point the ice packs didn't help
at all and I finally took a Benadryl and it went away...nothing on this medicines list "Burning"
as a reaction...so then why would Benadryl help if it wasn't a reaction...I'm
so confused and I only have the reaction when a "caine" type product is used on
my back...
Today, I'll try to do some laundry and get back into my daily routine with my kitties
and all and I'll try posting some, sure very sore still, but better, knee is doing good...
I'd recommend prolotherapy for the knee, not sure I'd recommend it for the back....
My reaction is not typical and my doctor added a procedure of desensitization( to help with my fibro tender points)...
I don't think I'll be able to handle the desensitization procedure...not without a benadryl IV....

Yes he did the back first, did desensitization then the prolotherapy so about 20 needles
there and then he did the knee about 10 needles there, he didn't do the desensitization
on the knee, so that might be why it didn't have the burning pain.
Had some serious depression issues over the weekend, too....
I Probably should've gone to the ER due to the burning pain, but had no way there.

        Chartreux, I'm sorry to hear of your financial troubles, and I new you had a rough weekend after reading your post on another forum.

       I do remember one time in my younger days, my wife and I got in a bit of a financial jam, and could not make the house payment, so I called them to let them know. Since I had good credit and a good record with them, they took that months payment and tacked it on the end of the loan.

     This helped us out greatly and gave us a little room to breathe. Maybe you can call and ask if this would be a possibility for the both of you.

      Life does throw some very fast and hard curve-balls, and it's tough mentally to get through them. Stress,  depression, and pain is not a good mix, but what is one to do! Let's hope things smooth out for you soon. We certianlly hope you dont have to work, in your condition.   It's hard on me, and I think you have several more DX's than I do!

           Chart,...with that many needle sticks....maybe an infection? Might want to get it checked out pronto!

     If it gets worse in the next couple of days... at least get in and have it checked out please!
