Are the cooler temps getting to anyone else yet?

These cooler nights (and a few days too) are killing me!  I go back to my PM doc on October 13th and we're going to have to go into winter mode already!  Last year, I was able to wait until almost Thanksgiving but last night I thought I was going to have to go to the E.R. for my right arm!  UGH!

And then there's the pain from the recent surgery.  Just shoot me now.  skull

Hope everyone else is having a better time of it than I am.

Our weather has been bouncing every few days between summer and mid fall the past couple of weeks and so far the only effect it has had is to give everyone colds in my house. Even the dogs are coughing and sneezing.

Oh, we've had all of the cruddies too, but I'll take that over the pain. My right arm has been horrible, absolutely horrible. And, now we're starting into fall rain and storms so I get to add that to the mix.

I find the cold weather does infact cause me more pain ,expessialy rain ? I think it has to do with inflamation,in some cases.I think sunny days make most people feel happier! Ido know most medical conditions say extreme hot or cold is hard on the body! I find reading or getting your mind to focus on something ,makes it easier to deal with bad pain days .take care

holy moly- come on out here to Arizona! our "cooler" temps right now are still right around 100

Or come to northern Alberta where it is often -40F in the winter for ages and ages. That excludes the windchill factor on the treeless prairies making it dip down to -65F. Anyway, those temperatures really bother me, too. Our current temps are perfect - lows just above freezing and lovely warm (about 60F) days. Too bad it wasn't always like that here!

I'm so sorry about your pain issues with your colder weather. The heat down here in Texas has been the problem for me and others with pain. It's been scorching temps around 110, which is just brutal to go out into when your hurting. But FINALLY, it has got down to around 85 and we are starting to feel some relief.

I do understand how the cold makes you hurt more. We do have some pretty cold weather in the winter...and with the moist humidity factor, it just makes it worse....so I feel for you. Try to stay warm and cozy. I hope you will feel better from your surgery pain really soon.

Today is perfect in Tennessee. The fall colors are really starting to show, the temperature is PERFECT...I wish it could stay this way forever.

I go to see my PM doc on October 13th and I am going to ask him to send me back to my original surgeon for a follow up, just to see if his position may have changed any on any potential further treatments there may or may not be for me. If there's nothing, okay. But, I keep thinking what if there is SOMETHING that can be done...so I am going to try for it.

Sure wish we had some cooler weather, but it's still hot, maybe over the weekend we
can get a weak cool front in....
Tennessee, must look very pretty by now as most Northern US States....

Tennessee is beautiful right now. The rain we've been getting came at the perfect time for fall colors. I am hoping to feel well enough for a weekend in Gatlinburg not this weekend, but the next weekend. Hubs and I need some time away, and neither of us have anything to do that weekend. :) Again...this is only if I am feeling up to it. :(

Tonight is quite chilly. My right arm is fired up...I mean really fired up. Swollen from the wrist to the elbow and all. This is so disheartening. Swap one pain for another.

It's still in the high 80's - 90's here but the almost daily rains are making me hurt something fierce!

My left hand entered into the pain cycle at 4:00 this morning. It's a COLD 50 degrees this morning, my right arm is painful to the touch and slightly swollen. It's rainy and miserable so I am going to stay in my jammies all day long and watch lifetime movies. U...G...H!

Side note: My husband asked me how my hands were doing last night. Made me feel good that he thought to ask. I told him that the right one was killing me with the cooler weather. He said, "Yeah, Ducks (our youngest son) said you were using your arms to push the grocery cart yesterday. He figured out that your pain level was up and wanted to be sure we checked on you--because you refuse to say a word to us about it any more."

SO, he didn't notice, my 17 year old son did and alerted his dad. Either way, they have noticed that I leave them alone about my pain...and they now know I talk to others who understand it more.
