One round of the antibiotics got rid of the infection!  No more antibiotics (ladies, you know what I mean when I say no more Diflucan!) and the pain pump went "home" today too.  =)  (It's taken them THIS LONG to get the pump!)

Now if my hands would behave, all would be decent with my world.  I'm still having pain, extreme at times, on the rear wound but the doc said that it is still real red and that will just take some time, to keep taking my meds and taking it easy.  He does feel I'll still be back to work in 2-3 weeks though.  cool

Just a quick update.

I know how you feel about getting those clear cultures. That has to feel great! I just finished a round of antibiotics, and no amount of yogurt or treatments kept that secondary infection away. Diflucan is coming home with my fiance tonight.

            Yes!....we are all pleased that they have finally cleared up the infection. I know it has been rough for you, but it seems smoother days are ahead soon. I hope you do keep an eye on it, just in case it rear's it's ugly head again. If it does...don't be waiting on a Monday...get in Pronto, and get it taken care of. wink

     I bet you can't wait to get behind the camera again! I loved it when I was doing it...but now, Im just too worn out and in too much full body pain to enjoy.

Thanks everyone. With the regimine I am on, I really do believe that the outbreaks are behind me. I am NOT a worrier. But by golly I was a mess all weekend waiting on the results from the cultures. To hear that all is clear put me in better spirits and really did help me deal with the rainy Monday and my hand/arm pain. I am a firm believer that your mental status plays into your pain...FIRM believer.

I did express my concerns about the increasing pain this far into recovery. I was told that the combination of the continuing drainage agains my skin, causing irritation, and the nerve endings healing are why I am still in pain, to take my meds as I need them and eventually, hopefully within the next 2 weeks, I will be cutting back on them and taking them as normal.

What kind of PM patient am I that I HATE taking my pain meds as prescribed, much less when I need to take them more!?!? LOL
